He was one of those people who breathed quietly, eh. She continued to talk about how she knew colors, and, if he pondered the idea, it made sense. She didn’t like silence. It probably was unnerving, more so because she was blind. So she always had music playing. At that thought, he turned on his radio form, directing the sound so it seemed to be coming from a distance. It was an upbeat, happy song, called ‘I Love a Rainy Night’ by Eddie Rabbitt. Haze directed ‘Nick’ to watch Annie, to watch her face, to see what her reaction to this would be. It wasn’t playing too loud. That could give away the position of the radio.
It sounds to me as if you know how to correctly operate even without sight. I don’t know how I would even make it though a single day. Haze then took a quick glance at Annie’s parents. They were still talking amongst themselves. It didn’t take that long to acknowledge that, so he went back to looking at Annie’s face. Then a thought occurred to him. I’m curous. Truthfully, what do you think about me based on what you know of me? Haze was wondering exactly what his first impression was like.

Annie twitched as another song began to play, but other then that, she didn't react. Apparently, someone had started a new party, maybe, or something else. She looked over, but the fact that it seemed too far away to pinpoint it, meaning it was on this side of the lake. With that thought, she figured it was on this side of the lake, probably closer to her then she thought, but she pushed it out of her head, focusing again on Nick/Haze.
"Years and years of practice. That, and my parents helped in showing me how to get around. Counting steps helps, remembering when I turned, things like that. My memory is more accurate then most others, but I've been exercising my memory since I before I could walk. In my house, I can tell who is coming towards me by the way their footsteps are and strange footsteps wake me up in two seconds. But, I guess it would be hard for people not used to it," she responded quietly with a slight shrug.
At Nick's question, she looked over at him. "A very strange, smart, curious, boy," she responded cheerfully.

Annie’s response to the music took Haze completely by surprise. He had expected her to either take it painfully or smile and like it. Instead she twitched, looked in its general direction, and then seemed to forget about it. Because of that, Haze just let that song end and die away. Then, as she was speaking, his avatar gaped. It had taken years for her to learn how to perform correctly without use of her optics. She had to memorize how many steps it took and the turns. If he attempted to do that he would probably be completely lost after a few minutes.
She then answered his question. At her answer, Haze let out a loud chuckle. He was strange, there was no doubt about that, particularly seeing as he was an alien robot. He did have to admit that he was pretty curious, and that he was pretty smart. I found that funny because that’s what I think about myself half of the time. I think that you are a kind, smart, and patient individual. Well, that’s just my first impression of you anyway. Wait a minute. That just isn’t exactly fair. I don’t really think it’s very fair that you have been answering all my questions, and I haven’t answered any of yours.

Annie looked over at him with a slight blush, but pushed it away. She had heard the music fade away, but that was about it. It was strange, but too many sounds could distract her entirely. She shifted and began to look over at him. "I've asked a question? I don't really remember, I'm sorry. I sometimes talk too often. I don't really have questions Nick. You see...unlike most humans, who fear what they don't understand, I must face what I don't understand multiple times daily. Like, my way to school having to change because of construction. I don't mind the questions anyway," she responded cheerfully.
She really had no issues with talking to the stranger when she slowly sat up and looked over at him. She rested her cane across her lap. "Can I see you?" she asked softly, looking at him.
She was curious, but she needed to ask.

No, you haven’t asked a question, and that’s my point. Well, she said she didn’t have any questions, so that was a good explanation. Annie went on to explain about confronting what she didn’t understand. She didn’t even mind the questions. She had stayed there, not really moving. But, earlier when he replied to the answer to his last question, she had blushed. He had pretended not to notice, and wondered what the cause was.
The question she asked completely baffled him. He thought she was blind. But, she asked if she could see him. What? Was that even possible? What did she mean? Haze stared at her for at least half a minute. Then, he had gathered his wits to say, I’m afraid I have absolutely no idea what you mean by that. Of course he didn’t understand. How could he?

Annie looked down slightly and laughed nervously. "I can "see" people the same way I "see" colors...through touch. I can trace your face. You just have to close your eyes so I don't poke you in the eyeball," she responded softly and smiled a little, holding her hands up a little.
She looked at his direction, wondering what he was thinking. She had forgotten, though, in talking with him, that he was not like her parents, or the counciler at school, or a couple of her teachers, understanding that she needed to touch things to see them. She had to exploit all her other senses to understand the world around her, with the fact she had no sight, that she would never understand that.
She held her hands out a little, as if showing her hands would somehow incourage an affirmative answer.

Haze waited as Annie explained what she meant when she had asked if she could see him. Ahh. Of course. The only misgiving Haze had about the whole thing was that at the first touch he might forget he was using a holoform, and might let it slip. No, if he thought about that happening, it would. He would focus on maintaining the rounded head of the holomatter avatar, with it’s nose, well centered, the eyes only about a half inch apart, and the lips pretty flat. This was the first time he had really concentrated on the face, focused on keeping it the same. It was only about the width of a hand wide, and two hand-widths tall. It was a lot different than his true head.
Shutting the eyes of the avatar, he observed the scene with interest. He wondered how she would really trace the head, what path she would take to form it in her mind. It was strange. He was adept at planning, but Annie, a human, had successfully thwarted his predictions of her behavior. After the first few times, he had stopped trying, figuring it was because he wasn’t familiar with how humans thought.

Annie smiled a little and slowly reached out. When her fingers touched his chin, barely, she let her fingertips ghost up his jaw until she touched his forhead. With gentle touches, she began to slowly trace down his face, fingers drifting gently around his eyes, around his nose, along his cheek bones, brushed along every part of his face. She blinked a little, wondering what the color of his eyes were, and her fingers brushed across his lips, which were a little flat, until her thumbs brushed along his chin.
She slowly withdrew her hands and smiled a little. "Thank you. I know a lot of people are uncomfortable with that. You were very still. What color are your eyes?" she asked suddenly, her mind already storing away Haze's hologram's face into her mind.
She thought of his eyes as a warmness, of warm colors like brown or orange or red or something of that sort, but not cold colors. Cold colors like blue or white (sometimes) or yellow. Yellow always felt more like an ending.

Annie was barely touching Haze’s holographic face. He had to resist the urge to twitch. A lot of people were uncomfortable with it? It must have been that they were uncomfortable or unfamiliar with having their faces touched, at least by someone they didn‘t know very well. Your welcome. My eyes are brown. That was… Different. He certainly had something new to think about. He had picked an eye color at random out of those he knew were normal for humans. He hadn’t really thought of how warm each color was, nor did he think it would’ve really mattered in the end. He did have one thing to say on the subject though, Why did you want to know my eye color?
ooc: Sorry it's a little short, but that's all I could come up with.

Annie looked over at him and smiled. "It's usually an odd feeling. I try not to hurt people, so I'm always incrediably gentle. I guess it would feel odd," she responded softly and she shifted, trying to avoid crashing into him.
She looked at him, and in her mind, the eyes she had traced became warmer. She shifted a little and looked at him. "It's how I picture things. I like to find out how people look, but each person looks different, so I need to picture them differently in my mind," she explained softly and she smiled warmly in Nick's direction.
"But, thanks for not twitching. Mom does that a lot...Dad too. I think, even after all of this time, they are still trying to adjust to the fact I can't see," she added and she shifted again so she sat as if she were wearing a skirt.
Her parents were talking about them again, though now it involved comment about 'cute'. She was sure she was going to suffer latter, but it was worth it. Despite the curiosity that seemed to just drive him to figure everything out...well, because of that, she thought the was cute. She just wasn't sure in what manner.

Okay. So she didn’t want to hurt anyone. He could understand that. Of course, he was pretending to be stupid around other transformers, and he was also pretending to be a Decepticon. And that also meant that sometimes he had to really get into character, hurting other ‘cons and himself to keep from being suspicious. She wanted to know what color his eyes were because that affected how she pictured him. That made some sense.
Your welcome again. It was pretty hard not to twitch. In a way it was a little ticklish. I understand how hard it is not to twitch, even if I don’t understand why they twitch. So, do you have anything else to talk about, because I’m out of questions for the minute. He really was out of questions. His processor was working through the last several minutes, however long it had to be. He was looking for something she had said that might give him something to ask.
This is a first. I can’t think of anything to ask.

Annie smiled at Nick/Haze as he responded to her. She waited for awhile and then laughed at the fact he had no questions. "Oh, have I worn your curiosity out? I should feel bad, but I can't help but feel honored over that. I have tired out your curiosity," she responded with a smile.
It was not teasing or malicious, though amused. She seemed to just be bright in the spiritual sense. Like, she had found her place in the world and was overjoyed to be there. She smiled and looked thoughtful. "Oh! I do have a question...what time is it?" she asked, her eyes almost brightening at this, as if she had pulled the greatest joke of all time.
She continued to smile and once she had her answer, she ran her fingers through the grass. She loved to learn about people. In her mind, she stockpiled touch, smells, and things she heard to 'create' the person in her mind.
Their likes and dislikes colored them in a way people couldn't understand until they were completely real. They became people she could see be bringing up a touch that reminded her of them. "Well...what's your favorite scent?" she inquired, wondering if he even had one.
Most people didn't think of their lives in sounds, smells, and touches. Tastes, occasionally, but not entirely. She often breathed in through her mouth to taste the morning and to feel the way the oxygen almost curled inside her diaphram. She always felt livened in the early morning hours. It made her feel like living and she smiled at Nick/Haze.
"Today is good, isn't it?"

Haze chuckled. Annie was honored to have drained him of questions. While it was a first for him, that was just strange in his eyes. She had a touching smile. It was even stranger that the holomatter avatar smiled too, much more that his mechanical body wanted to. He started to distract himself again, when she asked what time it was. Hm. I don’t know what time it is. Probably sometime between 10 and 12 though. I don’t have a watch. That wasn’t exactly true. He had a built in chronometer that was set to human time and it was just about 1039 hours, following the 24 hour clock the military used.
She was running her fingers through the grass. He waited until she got to the next question she wanted to ask. My favorite scent? He had been equipped with all custom sensory gear. He had customized his head so that he would be able to detect pheromones, hormones, and many other types of smells. He had that along with other things. But he chose a relatively normal smell for this answer. Heck it was his favorite thing out of everything he had smelled so far. Oak. My favorite scent would be the smell of oak. Yours? He looked at Annie. Yes, today is a good day. Well now, she had peaked his interest and he had already gotten one more question out.

Annie smiled and laughed again. "Oh, it seems you had one more question in you! Gosh darn. Well, my favorite scent is the flower edelweiss. It's so...I don't know. I just love it...I also like lavender however," she responded softly with that smile on her face.
She kept her hands in the grass and relaxed there. For a moment, she felt as if the world was good. Nothing was wrong and it was as if the world was aligned to be perfect. She sat there, calmly, and leaned back a little to face the sky. The open sky and she closed her eyes at the feel of the sunlight on her face.
She shifted and slowly focused on the boy sitting near her. She watched some part of the world through something else. As is she could see the world, even though she couldn't. And she could, in a way. She could see the world as it should be, not as it was. She saw everything through her heart, and that made the world seem so bright inside her dark world.
With that smile, she couldn't help but enjoy Nick's company. "Do you have a favorite song? Or a favorite sound? Or both?" she asked suddenly, becoming curious.

The edelweiss? He quickly performed an image search. It looked nice, but he couldn’t smell it. She also said lavender. That he had smelled. Annie looked as if she had no worries. He waited the time for her next question. She had never ceased smiling.
Then a question, or three, rushed out of her mouth. A favorite song, sound, or both. He ran a quick search through his memory banks. He skipped over her laugh, that would probably be too awkward. The first thing he really found in there he like was the sound of a small creek slowly trickling downhill. It would have to be the sound of a creek going down a gentle hill. Yours? Alright, so maybe his questions right now weren’t so original. His want to question Annie had temporarily disappeared. He was still running a background check to see if she had said anything earlier he could turn into a question.
