Annie had come with her parents to the lake, and she was enjoying her time here. She could swim, they had taught her in case she ever suddenly fell into a pool or something, so she felt no fear. When humans usually feared what they didn't understand, she had to move towards blindly...literally. She shifted a little and slowly removed her shoes. Being sure they were four hand pats to the left, she slowly slid her feet into the water of the lake with a happy squeal of laughter.
The shocking cold of the water surprised her, though she rapidly numbed and she slowly stretched back, rememorizing where her shoes were (now a slight turn of her upper body and six hand pats to her left) she fell silent.
There was laughter and splashing from across the lake, a date going right, or a party. Ah...music, party. She inclined her head, and smiled at the sound, the feel, of the wind. The sound of the leaves hitting against each other a little and she smiled.
Another shift of her head and she could hear her parents having a picnic. She shifted more and now could hear the soft crunch of wheels on dirt as cars pulled into the desinated parking area (not really, but it was unofficially that). She smiled as she listened to life, her blind-man's cane laying across her stomach.

A seemingly forgotten radio sat under a tree. Haze wasn’t really watching, but he noticed one human doing something he never really saw any humans doing. This one was laying in the grass, with a red and white cane across her stomach. Every now and then she would reach over and pat out the distance to her shoes. Haze had no idea what she was doing, and he hated that. He had never really needed a holoform before, but he quickly made one up. A boy probably around fifteen years of age, lean build, with thick brown hair appeared beside the radio, sitting under the tree. Quickly, because Haze couldn’t afford to be seen, the radio scuttled on his hands and feet that formed from under the bottom of it, alongside the boy as he got up and strode over to the girl. While on the short trip, Haze began to make up an identity for the boy and background, also going so far as to add in haphephobia, the fear of being touched. When he got to the girl, he examined her a little before speaking. She was blonde, as they called it, and probably stood not too much shorter than himself in robot mode. Hello. I’m new in town. May I ask your name? That was the first step in finding out what he wanted to know. He would find it out in due time, not rushing it, nor delaying it.
(OOC:I hope you don't mind Haze being here.)

Annie leapt up about a foot off the ground, splashing the water in surprise her feet pulling quickly out of the ice cold water and she turned to stare in the direction of the voice. She stared blindly (haha) in that direction and seemed to be gaining her bearings for a moment, completely lost over who was near her. "Oh...hello. Sorry. I didn't hear you coming up. I'm Annie," she responded slowly, eyes searching without her realizing it, a surprised look on her face.
She never knew how to mask her emotions, she couldn't see them. Patting the ground, she searched for her things, and found the cane first. With the cane, she found her shoes and looked around again. "If you left, that wasn't very nice to do," she grumbled, since she couldn't hear him breathing.
He probably left, annoying boy. She was in a bit of a sour mood because she had been startled, disoriented, and that put her in a bad mood, which wasn't helping.

I’m not that rude. Sorry to startle you. I’m Nick. Haze was noting that in the future, he should emit quiet sounds of someone walking when he used his holoform, or ’Nick’ as it was now named. He had his holoform continue to move its mouth while he decided what it said. May I now ask why you were moving your hands around as if you couldn’t see where your stuff was? Only a few seconds passed. Oh. Sorry, sometimes I feel so stupid. Haze commenced to mentally kick himself for saying that. He now had no purpose in talking to Annie. Then he realized that he was also curious about her. That was one reason to continue the conversation. Plus he didn’t have anything else to do. While he was doing this, he also remembered that holoforms were actually pretty solid. There goes the need for haphephobia. Oh well. He just had to wait to see what Annie did in answer to his mistake.

Annie blinked a little and shook her head a little. She was a little surprised as she now heard him moving. She wondered, for a moment, how she could have missed him earlier. She looked around slightly, trying to pinpoint him and raised an eyebrow before smiling a little. "Yes, I'm blind Nick. Can't see a thing. Colors are shades of black and changes of texture," she responded with a small smile.
She twitched as she heard her parents, but realized they weren't calling for her or asking if she was all right, allowing her to focus on finding Nick again. She shifted and let out a soft sigh. Once her hands collected everything, she sat with her legs near her and asked, "What brings you out this fine day Nick?"

Well, Haze had surprised her a little. I wonder exactly how that happened. He might not have known very much about communications, for how well he was doing. He started to just let the holoform create the sounds itself. Annie had sat down, so he went ahead and did so too. That was a wise thing she had said. In a way. I’m mainly just out because of the fact that I got bored. I didn’t have much else to do, so I decided to see what the lake was like. You? Haze let his gaze wander about the place. There were two people having a picnic, there was also a party across the lake, and various other activities going on. Of course, Haze was wondering whether he would get confused operating the holomatter avatar. Maybe, maybe not. It would just take him time to find out if it would bother him, controlling the avatar. It could potentially disorient him, such as if a giant robot attacked. He’d just have to wait to find out.

Annie shifted and looked over at him, hearing sounds once more. He got bored? He should try listening. Of course, that's what she did, day in and day out. She listened to people all the time and she attempted to find the sounds again. She let out a soft puff of air and responded, "My parents are the couple having the picnic. We always have a picnic today."
She grinned and twitched again, distracted by something. She inclined her head before looking back over at Haze/Nick. Well, in what she had figured what his latest spot, though it was off noticably and it looked like she was staring at something over his shoulder, except she couldn't stare.
With a shift of her weight, she rubbed her ears. "Ugh, that party is annoying," she muttered.

So her parents were having the picnic. That was interesting to learn. After saying that, Annie twitched and looked over his shoulder, staring at something. Or trying to at any rate. Maybe she had tried to position him based on sound? Then, rubbing her ears, she started to complain about the party. Is the party too loud for you? It was all in fun, that Haze said it in a teasing tone. He started thinking. He had read something on the humans’ internet about senses getting stronger if one disappeared. If that’s the case, I’d give you some ear phones, but I don’t have any. Haze pondered this. He didn’t really enjoy some of those aspects of human culture. The hundreds of types of music they had.. Well, maybe not hundreds.

Annie looked over at him and shook her head a little. "No, it's the party itself. It's across the lake, causing the sound to echo and it's distracting when I'm having a conversation, since the sound makes it sound like someone is playing quiet music nearby, which makes me think someone is near-by...it gets distracting. And I don't like headphones, because then I could miss someone coming up to me," she responded with a small smile, explaining.
His voice helped her shift her head a little towards him, and she smiled a little when she heard her parents say 'Annie....talking....boy.'
"They're talking about us," she commented.

That certainly was interesting. Evidently, the echoes created by the party because it was across the lake distracted her from the conversation, and could make her think someone was nearby? She must locate people mainly by sound. I don’t think humans’ noses are strong enough to help in that regard, in most cases. Annie was still talking. She didn’t like headphones because then she might miss someone approaching. That confirmed the location by sound theory. Suddenly, she gave a slight smile. Haze was perplexed by this, and he was still confused when she spoke again. Who was she talking about? Alright, but “They‘re” could mean anyone. Her parents, some people walking by, the group of people some ways down the lake shore… Sorry, but who’s talking about us? And would that be bad or good? Haze felt as if he should already know this, but he didn't know what who Annie was speaking of and what that implied. Evidently he didn't know as much about how the humans communicated as he had thought.

Annie shifted and laughed a little. "Sorry...my parents. I forget people can't hear what I can hear. This grass is green, right? Everyone always says 'as green as grass' and...I never got it. Maybe it's because I've always been blind," she responded softly, gently patting along the ground, she sighed.
She realized she had lost track of her shoes. She had the cane, but not the shoes. She let out a frustrated sound and began to pat along the ground more, attempting to find her shoes. They were simple things, white according to her mother and the Braille that designated where they were place, and she sighed softly. She continued to pat the ground, her fingers just missng her shoes.
"I should never take my shoes off, never, unless I am putting them in my closet, under the white area," she muttered, her hand gripping the cane tightly.

So it was Annie’s parents that were talking about them. He wondered what exactly they were saying. Haze could have heard everything they were talking about if he wanted to; all he had to do was set an audio receptor directly in line with them. He just didn’t want to rude and eavesdrop. Mainly because he could slip up and say something he shouldn’t. She also didn’t really get color expressions. He believed it. Especially since she had been born blind.
Haze watched as Annie started to pat around her. She seemed to start getting frustrated. Haze wondered what it was exactly she was looking for. It seemed like she was looking for her shoes, as that was the general area she was moving her hand in. He wasn’t entirely sure until she said so, in no uncertain terms. Haze had his holoform, Nick, silently reach over and move the shoes to where she was tapping, I believe you were looking for these. He wondered how she would react to that. She was so far unpredictable. Haze wanted to see how that would hold up.

Annie blinked as the shoes touched her fingers and she looked up. "Thanks. Sorry...I keep forgeting somone is here. You are...quiet. You are, in fact, the quietest person I ever have met in my entire life," she responded softly and began insure her feet were dry before slipping on the white shoes, which had some grass stains on it.
With a grin, she suddenly lay back down and kept still. The breeze barely touched her and she shifted a little, letting her cheek brush against the grass. She closed her eyes, calmly, and waited for the feeling to catch up. She shifted a little and listened to the way life was. She shifted, and let out a soft sigh. "White is the wind," she murmurred softly.

She seemed a little surprised when he handed her her shoes. Well now, seeing as he was so quite, she kept forgetting about his presence. That was a little surprising. Haze hadn’t realized that. In return he said, I’m not always so quiet. Sometimes I’m a lot louder. While he had been speaking, Annie had suddenly lay down. The holoform stared at her for some time, probably a few minutes, before Haze directed it to look around.
The clouds in the sky, they did little to blot out the sun. That was alright, because it didn’t really affect how Haze and his holomatter avatar worked. What did “White is the wind” mean? Okay, so he looked back at Annie when she said that, but then he didn’t really say anything else. He mostly started looking around again. Across the lake, the party seemed to be going good. He continued looking around, and he saw Annie’s parents still over there having there picnic. He just kept looking around, and settled on watching a dog walking around.

Annie smiled a little and responded, "Well, some people breathe quietly as well...and you are one of those people. Each person breathes with some difference. You are just quiet. Sorry if I forget you are here...it's odd for me."
She shifted and looked over at where his voice was. "My mother thought that I should understand colors and began to find things that felt different to help me "see" colors. Like, in that scene from 'Mask', where my mom got the idea. So...she picked things that could be "colors" in my mind. Red, is a hot potatoe, blue was an ice cube, white was the wind, black is what I always see, purple is a penne velvet piece of cloth, green is a fresh leaf, gray is a piece of cool metel. It goes along with that. Every time I feel wind, I think of white," she explained softly.
So low to the ground, sounds weren't around her anymore, making her feel distraced, and it allowed her to find Haze/Nick. "But, I'm quite serious Nick, the silence gets unnerving. I always have music playing, just so I don't have to listen to silence," she added, and she blew a strand of her hair out of her face.
