The lone figure of an M1 Abrams tank sat on a high hill of earth. It's turret would rotate occasionally from one side to the next, as if it were scanning the horizon for something. Well, in all actuality it was scanning the horizon. The tank was none other than Sgt. Gutsy. After his defection to the Autobots, he sought a better, more modern tank to combat his arch enemy. Sure, he should have worked alongside the German tank because they were both Decepticons, but his misguided patriotism wouldn't allow him that. However, after switching sides, he had a better grasp on what the war was really about.
That didn't mean that he couldn't still protect the American people. Only now, it was the people of Earth as a whole he helped protect. And as long as the war was still going on, which it was, he'd fight to the end for the Autobots and the people. Because Megatron was nothing but a dictator. And any American worth his salt wouldn't serve under a dictator.

Chris was worn out completely, having recently joined NEST, he had been forced... Ok not forced, but asked to introduce other newcomers to the NEST base. That was his job, which in retrospect was pathetic. But he really was the man for the job, after all he knew all the Autobots by name and had grown up a great deal within NEST. He sighed, scaling the hill and sitting down, he didn't even notice Gutsy nearby. "14 freakin' welcome tours... I joined NEST to fight, not to be an effin' tour guide." He muttered.

Gutsy's turret stopped once he heard Chris speak. "Figures. You'd think they'd leave all the tour guiding to some big-wig blueblood in a suit, not someone with the hot blood of a soldier coursing through their veins." he said, not bothering to transform from his tank mode. "But on the other hand, you are Prime's boy, so that makes them more or less expect you to be his spokesperson, since he's more or less running the war on the Cybertronian front."
In a way, he could relate to Chris. He too had been wanting to see some action, but the 'Cons had been keeping their heads down for the most part. "But you've got a point. I've been itchin' for a fight, yet all I get to do is guard duty." said Gutsy. He sounded slightly annoyed. "Then again, the lack of action might mean we're actually -winning- this war."

Chris turned his head to Gutsy, only now having revealed he was drinking, High Grade to be exact. He sighed, taking a swig of a bottle of said High Grade. "Yeah, I guess you have a point there... I'm like some sort of unofficial ambassador, or that's what Dad says anyway." He replied, shrugging a bit "I'm unsure of why, I'm no good at being an 'ambassador' really. And you'd think if I was I'd get a better pay." He joked lightly.

"You'd think that people would more likely listen to the head of the whole operation, but at the same time, he probably chose you because you're more easy to relate to from a human standpoint. Mainly because you look like one." he said. "I wouldn't worry though. When it comes time to put some Decepticon scum in their place, you'll get to see some action." he added. "After a while, a soldier learns to appreciate the downtime he gets during a war as much as the time he gets to fight the enemy."
(Yeah, it's short. I'm fighting through a muse hiccup atm )

"Yeah, but you should see the reaction of the UN when I walked in there once. Nothing relatable about me to them." Chris had to chuckle a ltitle bit "Then again I was with Dad, it had nothing to do with me being a liason. I forgot the reason I was there now it was so long ago." He sighed at he listened to the rest of what Gutsy had to say, nodding "Yeah I guess so, I just haven't stretched my robotic forms legs in a while so-to-speak."

"I choose to stay in this form because it's a smaller target in case someone gets the jump on me." said Gutsy. "Like that Deadeye fellow. He's a slippery one." he added. His comment was half true. The other part was if he stayed in his tank form, even those who were unwise to the presence of Transformers on the planet would simply mistake him for a piece of military equipment now that he had a more modern design, as opposed to his previous vintage tank. The only place he could blend in with that was at a museum. "But I'm hoping the rotation's soon. I'm starting to get a little stiff staying in this tank form.

"True Gutsy, after the last battle, the Cons have been quiet." Chris then laughed lightly at the thought of the last battle "I wonder if we scared them off when Monica and I decided to get married in the middle of it?" He joked, it wasn't exactly the most romantic wedding. But back then they had thought neither of them might make it out alive, so they had gotten married right there. "I know what you mean, it must be boring when things are so quiet for you."

Sgt. Gutsy let out a bit of a laugh at Chris's comment about the marriage. "Being bold has a romantic quality of it's own." he said. Obviously getting married in the middle of a war was a bold move for just about anyone. His barrel pitched upward slightly, he was studying a passenger airplane flying overhead, something to take his mind off of the monotony of watching the horizon all the time. Even if he weren't looking, he'd still hear something approaching, provided his upgraded sensors didn't alert him first.
"Yer damn right it's boring!" he said. "If I had been running this operation, I would've kept right on the Decepticon's tails till they couldn't run anymore, then smash them against the wall we backed them into." he added. "But no, the bluebloods at NEST want to play a defensive game." said Gutsy as his moment of irritability seemed to begin to fade.

"Yeah, well I'd have preffered something different... But we didn't know if we'd live through it. I guess you could say if I was going to die, I wanted to die with a complete life." Chris explained, that was the best way to explain it, at least in his opinion "The best offense is a good defense." Chris quoted as Gutsy commented on NEST. "The Decepticons are dangerous, and any kind of ambush and invasion isn't new to them." It was a few moments before what he said hit him. "Damn, I sound like my Dad..."
