Chris sat on the beach in the still of the star filled night. It was quiet and calm on the rocks along the rather small beach. He was the only one there, and he had come alone. This time with Sideswipe and Bumblebee's knowledge, just in case. It was rather late, at least midnight, but he had left only an hour ago, so it didn't really matter.
His mind was focused on what had taken place lately. His Father was back in his life, as were the Autobots. He had a big family again, a big cairing family for that matter. His Uncle was his only living relative on his Mother's side, and as such he had forgotten what it was like to have such a big family. The Autobots gave him that.
Though their protectiveness sometimes irritated him, he really did find the sense so many people cared warming. Knowing he always had someone to call when he was in trouble, and things like that. After all, if Bumblebee hadn't came and picked him up when his drunk friends drove off without him, who knows what would have happened.
He sighed, standing up, he didn't think for a moment about how close to the edge of the rocks he was. He lost his footing and fell, at once, panic filled him. The truth was, Chris didn't know how to swim. "Help!" He cried out, struggling to keep on the surface "Somebody, I can't.... Swim!" His heart pounded practically out of his chest, no one was there to hear him, he realized.

Arsenal was testing his new Alt. mode, A Harrier Jump jet. He had recieved clearance from the local government to fly around the area and scout for any decepticon traces. While he was doing so flew towards the coastal area. He practiced a few barrel rolls before taking to flying just above the water. He enjoyed the feel of the seaspray as he zoomed across the water. He scanned the area nearby and found just one human. Well he couldnt transform now, but wait he recognized that human. It was Chris! Arsenal wondered why his little friend would be out here by himself. He considered flying down to visit with the boy when Chris suddenly slipped and fell into the way. His sensors found the water was deep and the boy seemed to have trouble keeping afloat. Arsenal Veered toward the boy, physics fighting at his reflexes. He slammed into the water in mid-transformation and rose under the boy carefully grabbing ahold of him with his hands. He brought the boy onto the beach setting him down softly.
"Are you going to be alright, Chris? Should I summon you some aid?" Arsenal asked concerned.

For a moment Chris was sure it had been the end, but it had shocked him when he felt himself scooped up. He knew it had to have been an Autobot, he half expected Optimus or Sideswipe but instead, as he was set down, saw Arsenal. He shivered madly, the water had been icey cold, and his body was cold as a result. He coughed out some water, and looked up at the mech, who had just saved his life. "N-N-N-No. I'm fine." He said, he then added "Just very cold..." He hen added "W-What were you doing out there?" He questioned, guessign by his robotic state he was some sort of aircraft.

Arsenal watched as the boy coughed water up. At first he thought he had been too late judging by the coughing and shivering. But when Chris finally spoke his spark was put at ease. "I can fix the chill." Arsenal told him. He fired his thruster on the lowest setting possible, the turbine might as well been off. Arsenal filtered heat through the vent in his armor giving chris the equivalent of an autobot hairdryer.
I was testing out my new alternate mode. I was given permission to scout the area while doing my test run. Luckily i had decided to make a run by the coast or I wouldn't of spotted you before you fell. I am glad you are alright. Would you mind telling me why you are out by yourself? That is if you would not mind." He asked. He was genuinely curious and if the boy needed someone to talk to he would gladly do so.

Chris's body relaxed at the feeling of heat, it was like being wrapped in a warm blanket almost. The heat wrapped around him, and felt relaxing. "I went out to just have some time alone... With permission this time." He explained, looking up at Arsenal "It was stupid to go out that far on the rocks when I can't swim... Well, not very well at lest." He then added "But I wasn't really thinking." He then added "Thanks for saving my life."

Arsenal smiled down at Chris. You are welcome, my friend." he chuckled. Accidents happen. No one knows when or how. Only that they will. he looked at the boy and gave a reassuring smile. He chuckled before saying, I assume by your tone that you gone out for your "alone" time against someone's wishes. he was only jesting the young one. He knew what it felt like to have to just get away from it all, to clear one's thoughts.

"Not really, Sides was nervous a tiny bit, but mostly because of the attack recently." Chris shrugged lightly "But it's late, and even you guys need to sleep, so he figured I'd be ok." He stood up slowly, allowing his clothes to get dry "Hey Arsenal, can I ask you a question?" He commented, something had been bothering him for a while, and he felt the need to talk about it.

"Sideswipe is a very good soldier. I can understand his worry after such an event. But Im sure he can understand the strain that you go through as well. he nodded at the comment about having to sleep. Everyone needed rest. He cocked his head to the side, when Chris asked him, if he could ask something. Arsenal found no reason to deny the young man his curiousity.
Of Course. I will answer to the best of my ability. Arsenal Replied.

Chris bit his lip this may have sounded stupid to a giant robot, but to Chris it was a very real feeling. There were times where the feeling was incredibly strong. And he didn't want to sound stupid. "Do you think none of this... I mean, what's currently happening, could have been avoided if I was never born?"
He knew it probably sounded stupid. But sometimes he did feel like everyone would be better off if he had never even existed. After all, along with Sam, they wanted him. Monica and Mark would have been safe... His Dad wouldn't be so stressed. Soemtimes he wondered if everyone's lives would be better off without him.

Arsenal was surprised to say the least. He hadn't expected such a question. He looked at Chris, wondering just what troubles could cause such a young being to even think that. He scratched his helm abit before answering.
"No I dont believe that. Your are a one of a kind person, Chris. You friends care about you. Your friends choose to stay by your side through thick and thin. You did not ask them to make that choice. They do so willingly. Why? Because you matter to them. Your father is proud of you. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. All you have to do is believe in yourself. Everyone believes in you. I for one, Am glad you were born. For I would never have made friends with such an amazing person. Even if you cant swim..." He added with a smile.

"No one dared to Speak of the terrible danger The hideous ancient warnings Forged in the void of night...."
KARR was flying around in his aerial attack mode at 700 feet above the beach. He didn't really have anywhere to go. Loudly, the song Dark Eternal Night by Dream theater played in his audio system. If KARR wasn't allowed to fly around the landscape at these altitudes, he certainly didn't give a damn. Then again, he hadn't been causing any trouble yet, right? "...Drifting beyond all time Out of a churning sky Drawn to the beckoning light Of the dark eternal night
Trapped in a hellish dream Spinning past worlds unseen And frightfully vanishing Into the dark eternal night
Drifting beyond all time Out of a churning sky Drawn to the beckoning light Of the dark eternal night."
As the song ended, KARR spotted Chris and Arsenal up ahead. He recognized the two immediately. If he had a face in this form, it would have sneered. KARR was an energetic bot, that was for sure. He loved to stir things up. What a better time to have some fun than in the middle of the night? Initiating a steep decent, KARR watched his manifold pressure as he descended at very slow speeds (ALMOST hovering) just a few yards away from Arsenal and Chris as his rock song finished playing. "Hellooo people." The rotor downwash began to beat at their forms furiously, the downwash was always annoying by most beings, regardless of the helicopter's size. The navigational lights shone down on them like the rising sun as he approached. "I'm surprised to find anyone out here this time of night." he transformed into his bot mode, grinning like a chesire cat at Arsenal and Chris. ((I felt like throwing in some lyrics. The full song is actually somethin like, 6 or 8 mins long...))

Chris's head turned, upon sight he knew the mech at once. KITT had spoken of KARR before, and even warned him to steer clear of him. He didn't answer Arsenal, but rather moved back, closer to the Autobot. He knew he couldn't handle someone KARR's size. And on the off chance he was there for him, making him angry was not the best idea. He backed up until he was a safe distance from the Decepticon, or at least what he hoped was a safe distance. Why can't I ever go one day without something happening? He thought to himself.

Arsenal stepped forward infront of Chris. Karr was trouble with a capital T. Arsenal knew he could take him, but he also had to watch out for Chris. He decided to find out what Karr wanted. Or if he possible to get him to leave without a confrontation. Arsenal didnt like to fight but he absolutely would if he had to.
"Karr, fancy meeting you here. We arent looking for trouble, just a little fresh air." Arsenal's optics never left Karr as he prepared for any possible attacks. He wasnt about to let Karr harm Chris right after saving him from drowning. Hell to the NO!

((don't forget, I'm keeping KARR's original voice actor. And therefore, he sounds like a much darker, slight variation of Optimus's voice...I'd reckon Chris would be surprised XD, ESPECIALLY since Optimus is his father.))
KARR knew right off the bat neither of them wanted him here. Of course. This was purely because he loved causing trouble and they didn't want any. Casually, KARR took out his black laser gun, which was similar to KITT's and began to spin it in his right hand idly. It spun almost as fast as his rotors, practically invisible for the second or two he started to talk.
"You good guys are always so damn boring." From what he'd heard, Chris was capable of a lot. And as he'd reminded himself of this, KARR began to think a bit more. "Seriously. What the hell else do you do in your free time? Additionally, why the hell are people always-" KARR stopped spinning the gun "risking their spark to protect the likes of you, boy?" KARR pointed the plasma gun at Chris, who was slinking away behind Arsenal. "Don't think I'm clueless about your reputation. I've learned about you here and there. You seem dissappointed about my arrival? You techno organics think you're so superior when really, you still require constant surveillance and protection. Learn to fend for yourself. Maybe...maybe I can help with that..." he said cooly, his tone remaining that ever-constantly flat, cold, almost neutral tone...
It was even more ironic that his voice sounded like a twisted version of his dad...But KARR wasn't thinking much about this since he hadn't really met Optimus and didn't care to. He pulled the trigger, purposely firing two large, volleyball sized plasma blasts at their feet. The orbs glowed a bright orange-red color in the night.

Chris found himself surprised the moment Arsenal stood in front of him. Was every Autobot so wiling to protect him? He was brought from his short thoughts by the shots being fired, his eyes widened. He had never been fired upon dead on like this, he didn't know if he could take it. He jumped back away from the shot, luckily it had been at their feet he swerved smoothely out of the way.
