At Sentinel's reply, Optimus smiled. "I'll keep you safe." As Sentinel pressed against him, shifting her position, he glanced at him, his hand moving down slightly, he placed it agains his body, Optimus leaning his head against the side of the sofa. "You tired, Sentinel?"
By the way Sentinel II cuddled against his chest, it suggested Sentinel was tired, and because he wasn't here yesterday, he wasn't sure when his son had actually fallen asleep last.

"A little..." Setinel commented calmly, it was around the time of his nap. However, he wasn't tired enough to go to sleep. And hopefully Optimus wouldn't make him take a nap. "But I don't wanna nap."
Even though he was a clear Daddy's boy, he often fought his Father about naptime and bedtime. Even he was like every other child in that respect. He didn't like sleeping, he was too active to even consider liking sleeping.
He sighed, and looked over to the TV, luckily (For Optimus at least) the credits of Barney were now rolling. The little boy inadvertently let out a tiny yawn. He had fallen asleep late last night, having begged to stay up a bit longer like everyone else. His Mother had granted him his wish, but at the expense of his normal sleeping period.

Optimus nodded. He knew that he had a soft spot with Sentinel, and Ironhide had teased him about it more than once. He sighed at the thought. "Ok, you may stay up." He knew he spoiled his son the way some humans did to their pets, but he didn't care. A break was a break, and spending it with family was a good thing.
He looked towards the TV, and saw the credits rolling. "Is there anything else you want to watch?" short and crappy, I know. What about in this thread, Chris's mother died? I don't know, I need a few ideas

Seeing as Chris is 3 and he was 4 when his mother died, I doubt that could happen. I'll figure something out don't worry. Or we could start wrapping it up. Whichever is best with you. I'm ok with either. I'll leaveit open for either option.
"Uhhhh." Setinel commented lightly, however, he began flipping settling on a show also from Earth known as Power Rangers. It was an exceedinly violent show, but figuring he'd be asleep soon he doubted his Father would mind.
The boy yawned lightly, and nestled a little closer to Optimus, getting into a comfortable napping position in case he fell asleep. He put his right thumb gently in his mouth, sucking it in a normal childish manner. It was evident that chances were he'd be asleep in Optimus's arms.
Normally this was solved by activity other then TV viewing. However at the moment, that was about all they were doing. And unless there was activity, chances were he would be asleep within ten or fifteen minutes.

woops, thought that was typo when that posted.... I used to love Power Rangers as a kid
When Sentinel started flipping through channels, Optimus watched pictures appear on the screen. But then, they'd disappear quickly, to be replaced by another. But then, one channel stayed on, and Optimus turned to tell Sentinel to change the channel, but decided against it. He noticed Sentinel switch his position, and he was snuggling against Optimus.
And anyhow, the leader was sure Sentinel had watched this show before. After all, all the shows were usually the same. A bad guy would attack, and the Power Rangers would attack back, and defeat them, but then the villian would grow with the help of another villian, and the Power Rangers would use a robot to fight against the giant villian, and they'd win. And besides, the show showed good teamwork. So either way, it had its good and bad points.

Hehe I loved that show too.
Setinel watched the show intently, always focussing on the red ranger. He always had a facination with the leader. Once in a while he got a few of his sparksitter's to play 'Power Rangers' with him, and every time he'd be the same ranger, the red ranger. Though on occasion he'd be the green ranger as green was his favorite color.
About halfway through the morphing sequence, Setinel's atteniton was yet again occupied with other thoughts. He was growing bored watching TV and he was in a playful mood. "Daddy, can we play?" He questioned.

Optimus didn't mind watching shows like these, so he watched along with Sentinel, although his mind was somewhere else. He kept on thinking about Megatron and the Decepticons, and what future did Sentinel and the Autobots have. It was natural for a leader to want the best for his soldiers, but knew that that wasn't always the case.
When Sentinel asked him if they could play, Optimus looked down at him. "Well, what do you want to play?" It really didn't matter to Optimus, as he would play along with him anyways.

Setinel thought for a moment, he was a little tired so there were quite a few options on his plate. Hide-and-seek being one. Another option was his toys, though he was sure Optimus would need a holoform for that, or for the other choice of tag. Playing with toys at his true forms size was dangerous considering he was human, or partially and his toys were small. And tag... Well... The results of a giant robot chasing and tagging a little toddler would not be pretty.
His brain finally made up his mind, he motioned for Optimus to set him down. "Toys!" He commented simply. Knowing most of them were in his bedroom.

Optimus waited for Chris to reply, and when he did, he nodded. "Ok." He picked up Sentinel and held him in his arms as he walked to Sentinel's bedroom. Turning the corner, he arrived.
The room was small, considering the fact that Sentinel was small. A crib sat in the corner, with toys littering the ground. He set Sentinel down, and with a quick hand, he picked up the toys, and carried them in his left hand, Sentinel in his right. Walking back into the living room, he set Sentinel down, and rested his toys in a large heap beside the child.
Sitting down, he waited for Sentinel to decide which ones to play with, and which ones he wanted to cast to the side.

Setinel was very picky with his toy choices, needless to say. He scattered to the toy's briefly, and came upon two 'transforming' toys. (A lot like a TF toy for us but the transformation is split second) He realized now that one had a Decepticon symbol, but now knowing better didn't bring it up.
The toys had been given to him by Ironhide on his last birthday, and were a quick favorite of the boy. He grinned noticing something interesting, the Autobot one looked like his Father. He hadn't noticed it before. "Let's play Autobots." He suggested chipperly.
Like any child, he wanted to be the good guy, and thus rolled the Decepticon-ish toy to Optimus to use. It was irony at his finest, but he was just a kid so it wasn't too big a deal.

Optimus watched as Sentinel picked through the toys, sorting through them and scattering them across the floor. Optimus grabbed a few and pushed them out of the way, making it easier for Sentinel to find the ones he was looking for. When he picked his two, Optimus nodded, and pushed the others with the rest of them.
He then looked down at the Transformer Sentinel had placed in front of him. He looked it over quickly, and realised quite quickly it was a Decepticon. Autobots and Decepticons were easy to pick apart when you knew what to look for, especially with a symbol on the chest, and there was one.
It wasn't the easiest thing for a grown Autobot like him to grip a toy as small as the one Sentinel had placed in front of him. If all Decepticons were that small, then the war would have been over a long time ago. They would have all been smashed, and Ironhide would have fun with that, knowing his weapon specialist.

Setinel's game lasted as long as one would expect, until he had basically 'defeated' the Decepticon. Of course, there had been a great deal of imagination put into it at the same time. But that was the mind of a three year old of course, filled with more imagination then he knew what to do with.
By the time he had finished, Setinel was indeed tired. The three year old set down his small toy with a yawn, rubbing his eye gently. He sat slightly too tired to get up himself, he expected that Optimus would pick him up and tell him it was time for his nap at any moment.

Optimus played along with Sentinel, moving the small Decepticon whenever necessary, pretending to fire some shots at the Autobot, and put down the toy when Sentinel placed his down. The battle had gone easily, and Sentinel's Autobot had won very easily. If only all battles had been like that, then the war would have been done and over with a long time ago.
Watching Sentinel yawn, Optimus chuckled and reached over, wrapping his hand around the boy and picking him up. "It's nap time." Optimus stood up and placed him on the couch, where Optimus could watch him so that when he woke up he wouldn't go wandering off and stumble into Wheeljack's lab and make him go boom.

Setinel felt his Father pick him up in his hands, and for once, didn't fight him. He yawned again, putting his thumb in his mouth again. It often was a sign of how tired he was and that he was ready for said nap. As Optimus sat him on the couch, he muttered. "I love you Daddy." Before resting his head against his pillow and drifiting off into sleep.
