It was Cameron's birthday, and with Cameron living at NEST now, KITT and Cameron decided to go on a vacation during the week of his birthday. KITT new Cameron would love the break after being stuck at college, and Cameron had insisted KITT take a break from helping everyone at NEST.
They were technically staying at Maui, but most of all the good volcanoes were on the big Island. It was a bright early afternoon and KITT used his bot form to fly him and Cameron over to the Big Island-Mona Kea. It is the biggest inactive volcano on the island. It being on reserves, KITT had to pay a fee, but it was not a problem. KITT was having fun touring most of the key volcanos (what was safe anyway) by one of the routes called Saddle Road. This road did not lead to just Mauna Kea, but others as well.
KITT drove up the long dusty paved road, headed for the volcano's observatories. They started gaining elevation much quicker, and would probably be there in less than an hour with KITT abiding the speed limit and not having much tourist traffic during this time of year.
"Welcome to the biggest inactive volcano in the main island."

"Whoa..." Was all Cameron could utter as KITT noted that it was the biggest inactive volcano on the big island. Cameron was happy to hav ethis alone time, most of the time, they didn't get this type of thing. So lucky for him, they had taken this vacation with just the two of them. Now he was sixteen, with his liscence in tact, and before long he was positive he'd have a car. Considering his Dad had promised him one for his birthday. He would probably just have to wait until they got home. "This is awesome Dad, you sure do know how to pick out some good birthday spots." It was no lie, KITT, ever since he was a little kid had always figured out something cool to do for his birthday. And as such he always enjoyed himself.

KITT proceeded to drive up the road, getting closer and closer to the volcano, but it would be a while before they got to the top. KITT looked forward to it, as he hadn't driven up anything this high in a while. Scanning for cops, he picked up the speed, actually wanting to break the speed limit a bit. KITT chuckled a bit at Cameron's compliment. "I know I do."he said confidently. "Besides the last time we went to hawaii you were still a toddler."
(sorry its kinda short, got a lot to keep up with...)

When KITT brought up when they had last been there, Cameron couldn't help but muse upon the subject. That had been fun, but then again pretty much any vacation with KITT was fun. His Dad, both of them actually, had been to so many cool places as the Knight Rider duo. As a result, KITT knew all the perfect vacation spots, all of them Cameron enjoyed. And it was not just because most were filled with some brand of hot girl. "Yeah, that was a fun year I remember." He laughed "But now that I'm older I think I appreciate this place a lot more, if you know what I mean." He added.

"Certainly."KITT replied, continuing to drive at his current speed, which was still over the current speed limit as the road began to twist and turn a bit more. As he drove, he scanned for good areas to access with his 4x4 mode. The volcano was big, and there were so many choices, he hardly knew where to start. He just kept flicking through different angles of the volcano with Surveillance Mode, the random views appearing on the holographic heads up display on the windshield. "I'm looking for a good path to use first. Not that I need one, I'd prefer to abide by the National Park's laws...No matter, we'll go straight to the top."he saidwith his typical calm, monotonous voice. "Or would you rather fly down? Your choice."KITT loved his nano-machine wings-it was ability he'd acquired only when he started getting used to his robot form. Of course, often the typical amount of nano-machines often on his body entirely were reduced-but when flight was needed, it was a great advantage, and KITT was definitely thankful for them.
As time passed, they got closer to the volcano, and gradually it seemed to grow in size. The ground began sloping up more, and soon enough KITT was beginning to drive up the main road that went around the large volcano.
