Monica walked out of her house in jeans & an unbuttoned plaid shirt with a black tank underneath. She had nothing to do and nowhere to go so she decided to take walk around the neighborhood. She figured if she was lucky she might run into someone. Looking down, she noticed her all stars were getting slightly worn out. Oh well... I guess I'll buy some new ones in a few weeks she thought with a sigh. It was really boring being alone on the weekends, especially in Winter. Where is everyone? she wondered as she turned the corner onto another street.

The blonde girl smiled a little as she moved forward, her cane tapping lightly in front of her as she made her way donw the street by memory, mostly. Her phone was on, so she could call should she get lost, and she was working on seeing, at this she chuckled to herself, the neighborhood.
Shaking her head a little, she continued to make her way down the block, her cane sliding across the ground slightly to insure she didn't take a nasty stumble.
That could hurt, depending on who or what she stumbled into. As she couldn't hear anyone else, concrete or metal seemed to be her only other options, neither of which sounded very pleasing to crash into.
Lifting her sunglasses covered eyes to the sky, she took a deep breathe, feeling the winter air swirl into her lungs, the chill sinking into her body...in a pleasing way, despite her semi-thick powder pink hand-knit sweater and jeans. Smiling, she just stayed there, ignorent of the other living being also traversing the streets.

"Eep!" Monica uttered, running into a young girl on the sidewalk. "Sorry, I didn't see you there." she apologized. Then she noticed the cane the girl was holding and the sunglasses on her head. She must be blind... hope I didn't startle her... she thought.

Annie stumbled a little, but managed to keep on her feet, trying not to lose her cane. She smiled a little, though the surprise was obvious on her face, omitting her eyes. "It's all right. I didn't notice you either," Annie answered with a smile, adjusting the strap around her wrist that held the cane to be more properly nestled there.
Holding out her free hand cautiously, not entirely sure how far Monica was away from her, and smiled. "I'm Annie," she greeted.

Monica smiled, though she knew the girl more than likely wouldn't see it. "Nice to meet you Annie, I'm Monica. Do you live around here?" she replied as she took the young girl's hand and shook it. She wasn't sure if she recognized the girl from around the neighborhood thus her question.

Annie smiled in Monica's direction. She could sense the welcoming attitude Monica had toward her and that was enough. Being blind her entire life, she knew how to just feel people's feelings toward her. Which also made lying next to impossible for her.
"Yeah, I live around her. Which is why my mom isn't escorting me. I have a pretty good idea of the neighborhood and if I get lost, I can always call mom."
Her voice was warm and didn't sound exasperated. Mostly because she hadn't been asked in a 'how do you do that' kind of tone. "Have you lived around here long?"
Being asked that had made Annie curious. She was also slowly picturing Monica in her mind.
Monica was a soft warm feeling, like a good wind on a spring day. She also felt like a 'good Beethoven' personality. Soft with gentle undertones one minute, loud with protective undertones the next.
However, Monica might surprise her and slip into a song that was better tailored to her personality.
((ooc: Sorry for the delay.))

"Nice," Monica commented. She was happy to see someone not necessarily considered fully able taking the world head on, she liked people like that.
"Yep, my whole life," she replied casually. In all of her 16 years, she lived here in Tranquility, CA. The town itself wasn't very wildly entertaining, but you learned to make fun stuff happen. "Did you move her recently?" she asked curiously.
((no problem laula ^^ nice interpretation of Monica btw))

Annie smiled at that. "Oh, I've been in Tranquility itself since I was seven so...seven years. I just didn't really interact a lot when I was a kid. From seven to nine my parents were helping me become independent," she answered, after some thought.
The girl shifted a little on her feet before gently folding the cane up into her hand. For the moment she didn't need it. She wasn't going anywhere. She focused on Monica and grinned. "Have you ever been to the piano store, in the mall?" she asked curiously.
"I play the piano, so I often go there. I might be getting a piano from there too. I get spoiled a bit...just a bit. It helps that I'm an only child," she added before flushing in embaressment.

"So that's why I haven't seen you around before..." Monica commented in a thoughtful tone. She put a strand of hair behind her ear as a gust of wind blew it around. In response to Annie's question she said, "I've seen it, but I don't think I've ever been in," then she paused as the girl began to speak again. "That's cool that you play piano," she commented with a smile. She herself had never really played an instrument before. Chris was definitely the musician in their trio of friends. "Yeah, I know, I'm an only child too," she said with a chuckle.

"Yeah, probably why I haven't seen you around too."
Annie grinned at her little joke, before shaking her head a little. She blushed at Monica's praise. "Oh...thanks. I'm not that good, I just play. I memorized where the keys were. Mom always wanted to teach piano; she just did it with me though," she answered with a shy smile.
She shrugged a little. Her eyes traveled a bit. She felt like she was a quiet mood. Shrugging a little, her eyes shifted a bit to where she thought Monica was. "What street is this? Usually I can remember," she asked.

Monica smiled and chuckled at Annie's small joke. She found it good that the young girl had a sense of humor, it was always helpful when you had something different about you that you could get teased about.
"Wether or not you can play well, it's still pretty cool," she replied with a smile, "I on the other hand, am not very... good with instruments," she added with a chuckle.
"Hmm.... Well, I believe this is.... Sunset Boulevard," she replied, peeking at the street sign. "Do you recognize it?"

"Sunset Boulevard? Um...yeah! I know where that is. 138 steps after my right turn street."
She smiled at herself proudly at remembering before focusing again. She closed her eyes in thought, tracing out her next part of the route. She hummed a little and twitched her head to the side, thinking. "If I walk two hundred steps down from here, I should get to the left turn and after three hundred and sixty two, I should be close enough to home to find my way. It's the house with all the windchimes. Not that it helps when there is no wind."
She laughed a little and shook her head. "Mom wants me to get a dog. She's afraid I'll walk into an oncoming car or something."
