"In a way it is sad that you did. But in another I'm happy." Adam replied, smiling lightly "Not every orphan has someone take an interest in them enough to go for custody. That's why there are foster homes and orphanages." He then thought of the best way to word what he wanted to say next. It only took a few minutes really. "I consider myself extremely lucky that you took me in rather then anyone else. Seeing as you're one of nicest and coolest people I know." A brief pause, then he went on "I guess There are just those moments and sometimes days where I misse my parents."
Adam spoke the truth, he was very happy that Interceptor was now his Dad. He wouldn't want any other 'bot to call that in other words. Especially since Interceptor had taken the most interest in him and taken care of him the most. "But let's not focus on the negative about my parents dying." Adam put a smile on his face "So, you never told me about this 'FLAG' you worked for beyond it's name." He then asked "Anything I need to know about it?" He figure there was now that he was his son.

Ian thought for a moment, thinking on what Adam said prior to his question before he replied, putting another tiny cluster of paper in the straw. He was right, and appreciated what the kid said, and Ian didn't plan on falling back on the subject unless Adam did first. Ian then eyed the exit sign far to his right. When no one was walking through the exit, he turned that way and blew as hard as he could. The paper hit just beyond the bottom corner, bouncing onto the floor. He turned back around and shrugged, stabbing the straw into his drink to taste it. The lemonade was sweet but not bitter, of a fairly somewhat natural and refreshing taste when one didn't include the sugar. Not bad.
"Not much really."he answered with a shrug, sitting back again."They were shut down once due to a very special member deciding to take a break and another dying...but a new group eventually reorganized it and relocated. They're a collaboration of the funkiest geniuses around, well except maybe Mike,"Ian explained, briefly pushing up his sunglasses."I'll give him some credit though, he was the one that insisted on installing the Rail Gun that pwned Goliath, and contributed to its original design and specs. I wouldn't be here were it not for that group."he folded his arms again."I guess all you need to know is that they're kind of like NEST, but they operate on a smaller scale-they only work in the US for the most part, but they do get called to help solve cases or other random things elsewhere on occasion. They've been quiet these days, building stuff like me in their free time, now that they know about the Autobots..."
Then they got called for pizza, and Ian got up promptly to go get the two pizzas. One in each hand, he set them down carefully, then got up for some napkins since the pizza was fresh and might be greasy, and Ian was quite keen on maintaining his appearance top notch.

Adam smiled, and as he took his slice, scarfed down three bites. It was the first time he had eaten a real meal in months. He smiled and nodded as Interceptor explianed things, he understood just about everything. "That's cool, I can imagine they're a fun bunch if they're anything like the NEST members." He replied, eating more slowly now "You talk to them much?" He asked.

Ian nodded slightly."A bit here and there yes, but I haven't actually visited them since I was made. KITT and I had a one or two conferences too. Nothing too special. We're so busy at NEST I don't know if we'd have time anyway. They're great people indeed."'he agreed, taking a large bite of pizza. Liking how it tasted, he took a few more, trying to avoid the tomato sauce. Human food was so interesting..."I don't know if they're designing anything else right now, they only had so much money from Dr.Graiman and Wilton Knight. Though I'm sure they've got more than enough to keep the program going and then some."Ian shrugged and continued to munch on the pizza. Between munching and taking another drink of lemonade, he added: "Sometimes I think it'd be cool to be human. This stuff is good. But I think I'd rather be a bot almost any day..."

"That's cool." Adam nodded, continuing to eat as Interceptor continued on. He smiled slightly at the comment about the pizza. "Yeah, well, it's pretty good stuff." He then added "There are days when I wish I could be a robot oddly enough." He added, shaking his head, it was true. He had since he was a little kid, but being the son of one was a close second. He never thought about that happening until it actually did. "But after seeing what it's like, I don't think I'd want to. Too much stress and all, you know?" He replied.

Ian wasn't too surprised by Adam's comment, he knew lots of humans thought the Autobots were fascinating. "Seems to be about the same really."Ian said with a shrug. He munched on his pizza some more."There are huge advantages when you're a bot, but not everyone appreciates it. I for one love the versatility."Ian loved his multiple forms. Most Autobots didn't have that, but he still was counted as one. He took another piece and began working on it, inspecting the toppings as he ate. He paused to glanced at the watch on his left wrist-they had about half an hour still.

"Yeah, but I mean, always having to worry about protecting people. Especially those you guys consider 'loved ones'." Adam of course meant moreso then human's did "Hell, you took a shot for me when Goliath attacked me. I'm pretty sure that's taking it to an extent not everyone would take." He then added "I couldn't imagine having to risk my life like that every day of my life, I guess is all." He said simply. Taking another bite of his pizza, and looking at Ian slightly. He wondered if it had come out the wrong way. He was just putting it very simply, and he was still shocked. When Ian had pressed his body against his and taken the three shots from Goliath, he was dumbfounded.

"If we aren't willing to help protect the beings on this planet, we may as well hand it over to the Cons."Ian replied, basically agreeing with Adam."Not all Autobots are keen on dedicating themselves to protecting others, but the majority seem ready and willing."he took another pizza and had a few bites. Finishing the bites, he then added:"It depends on the situations, too...I felt the need to. Nearly impulse. It actually seems to be similar for humans-at least on those 'rare' occasions... "Ian honestly wasn't sure how else to explain it, but that seemed about right. He was only close to a couple humans anyway-this kid now being one of them. At the time, he hadn't known what else to do and certainly wasn't going to stand there.

Adam nodded slightly at the other things, then looked at him when he commented on what he did. Impulse, eh? It seemed a lot of parent's first impulses appeared to be to protect their young with their lives. He smiled gently, looking at Interceptor with a nod. "I guess it's natural for it to be impulse, with a lot of parents, when they see bullets headed for their kids... The first thing they think to do is protect them." He then added "So I guess it could be considered an impulse, right?"

Ian returned a brief smile, which may have appeared more like a smirk to some people. Sometimes his expressions just ended up like that."Yeah. Don't know how else to explain it anyway."He turned to his drink and took a few sips before and then returned to another piece of pizza."Well, we got a little less than half an hour. I say we leave in five or ten to get a decent spot."Ian added between a two bites. He hoped it wouldnt rain, but a little rain wasn't going to kill him.

Adam smiled and nodded, he was still shocked out of all the people in the world, Interceptor had taken an interest in him. At the start, he had almost had a feeling that Interceptor spent the time he did with him because he felt sorry for him. But after the entire incident with KARR and Goliath, it had become clear to the boy that Interceptor did care about him. After all if it had been what he initially thought, there was no way he would have risked his own spark like he did.
"Yeah, you're right, we've been talking so long, I haven't even noticed." He replied, finishing up his slice of pizza, and taking the plate to the garbage before tossing it and returning to the table "Ready whenever you are."

"Then I am too."Ian took a final chug of his lemonade, crunching on some ice as he through the rest of the trash away and put up the trays. He threw away the cup on the way out and kicked open the door since no one was walking in during that second or two. As he approached his form, the doors opened up vertically as they always did. The engine engaged and the lights flickered on. He walked up to his form briskly, sliding on a slippery, thin sheet of ice on the side walk before hopping off of it and into the driver's seat. A few people on their way to entering Pizza Hut looked his way, but Ian didn't appear to notice. Once the doors were shut, he only backed out of the lot after when Adam was strapped in.
Promptly, they left the area and headed back the same way they'd arrived to go get the tickets.

Adam smiled as they pulled up, then thought for a moment, he had money. While Interceptor was buying the tickets, he could most likely pay for snacks. It could work out easily, if Ian bought the tickets, he could get snacks and then they could regroup back where they were going to get a spot. "Hey Dad, I do have some spare cash in my pocket, I can get the snacks if you'd like." He suggested with a smile. "Might get things done faster, so I thought I'd throw that out there."
