Leslie's father had decided it was a good idea to pick somewhere to stay since he wanted to get away from the neighborhood they were robbed in and so he moved them both out of Nebraska and moved to Tranquility. He had heard it was a peaceful town and most people were friendly. Leslie however didn't like California too much mainly because there were too many people. So they moved into a house on the outskirts of town which was also close to Shadow Lake. Leslie decided that taking a walk down to the lake to read wasn't such a bad idea since most lakes were peaceful places. She brought her favorite book with her, it was a fairly old series known as the Goosebumps series but she was always rather intrigued by them. She found an empty bench by the lake and sat down on it reading "The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena" and quietly hummed a random tune.

Jade was also visiting Shadow Lake, all though she came from NEST, and was merely hanging around to visit. She was listening to Joe Satriani in her headphones, reading as well. She was reading a science fiction series she'd been dying to read called The Ender's series by Orson Scott Card, and she was on the fourth book called Children of the Mind. The series was very strange yet fascinating to her at the same time. Zoning into the book, the music blaring, Jade hardly noticed a girl walk up to a bench a couple yards from the tree that she was sitting against farther back. She had a weird skill of completely blending into her surroundings even if there were only a few shadows displayed on the ground. Well, that partly had to deal with the fact that she wasn't exactly normal.
In this case, Jade was so zoned in she didn't notice Leslie/Newt approaching.
Today she wore dark blue flared jeans, a simple black, v-neck t-shirt with a light blue long sleeved shirt underneath. Her hygiene was very well kept and her hair was fairly straightened. Jade quietly turned the pages, reading and reading, melting into the ground and shadows that shifted about her from the tree's branches. Unfortunately, her stealth act was ruined when a spider randomly crawled around the tree and found her neck. It tickled her fine skin."Yipe! Motha fragga!" she flipped out, slapping at her neck and dropped her book, the ear buds falling out of her ears.
Jumping to her feet, she kicked at the tree. Frighteningly enough, the kick made the fairly thick tree shake a bit (one that was at least three times wider than her waist)"Aww man! Now I gotta find what page I was on again!"

Leslie turned her head when she had heard Jade shout. At first she didn't even know what to think because she thought that she was alone at the lake, apparently she was a little too zoned out to even notice Jade was in the premises. At first she wanted to go back and see if she was alright, but it crossed her mind that what if she just wanted to make fun of her for being a new kid in town? But of course being kind heated little girl that she was she put a mark on her page and walked over to Jade to see if she was okay. On this beautiful winter day she wore a pair of blue skinny jeans, a white long sleeve buttun up shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a pair of brown snow boots. She knew how to dress warmly but when the weather was nice she always tried to keep warm, but also cool at the same time. She approached Jade and her nervousness began to ring all through her whole body. THis was something that she hated because it was the thing that usually kept her from meeting new people and making friends. She tried her best to keep herself from being to scared."A-Are....you okay?" She muttered as she crept up behind Jade trying not to make much of a spotlight on herself.

Jade slapped her neck again nervously as she turned around to glance back at Leslie, still feeling her neck tickle."Y-yeah but I still feel like that spider is crawling on me! Sorry if I startled you..."Jade fell a bit quiet for a bit, glancing off to the right-she was sometimes a bit nervous around people. Well, she was nervous and shy only until she adjusted to the situation.
An audible, drumming rotor beat shifted into range from the far right, and Jade looked that way curiously. She didn't know if it was an Autobot or not, and figured it was a normal helicopter.
However, the black Eurocopter approaching was in fact, an Autobot. Twister was just out cruising, having gone through the space bridge at the NEST base to visit California. It was a nice, cool day in December, and she wanted to enjoy it-plus it was a little warmer here than it was in NJ. Twister trucked along at about 100 knots, not too slow, not too fast, with the wind favoring her.
Jade only knew of one Autobot thatwas a helicopter so far, and that was Twister. She kept her gaze fixed that way to see if she could confirm what kind of helicopter it was.
Twister approached the lake fast, performing a low power maneuver called an auto rotation to the lake. 40 feet above the water, she flared to a complete stop before turning around. By this point, Jade confirmed it was twister thanks to the unique gold strip that darted across either side of her fuselage from her nose all the way to the end of the tail boom. The helicopter had no tail number either, and so Jade knew for sure it was her. However, to double check, she used the Autobot private communication frequency to radio her. "Hey Twister, does that happen to be you out on the lake?"
"You are indeed correct. I'm pleased to see I was recognized."after all, Twister hadn't intended on meeting anyone out here.
"You can hover over here if you want,"Jade took a liking to the former Con, and she was hoping the idea wouldn't scare this person she just met. She didn't even know if she was of the percentage that knew of the transformers' existence. Jade was a special case herself, but NOT a techno organic."I'm down with that."
Slowly, Twister made sure it was clear before she made a left pedal turn over the water, the water spraying up a bit as she did so, before she shifted steadily over to the land just by about another helicopter's length or so--she was still pretty far away from them. Twister settled into the ground, putting the RPM to idle. Jade glanced at Leslie as Twister finished her landing."Uhm, you can follow me if you want. What's your name? I'm Jade."

Leslie was relieved that Jade was alright and she knew exactly how she felt about feeling like the spider was still crawling on her neck; she hated spiders. She had finally gotten a little bit calmer and was fixing to ask her name when she heard the helicopter engine approaching and the helicopter blades chopping heartbeat like noise. She grew a little nervous because most helicopters never flew that close to the ground, but when she watched the Helicopter land elegantly just across the lake she knew that it must be a professional pilot. She also noticed that Jade was eyeing it as if she had seen it before. She wondered who was even driving that nice looking helicopter, she was rather fascinated with any kind of aircraft though. She noticed Jade walking towards the Helicopter as it landed on their side of the lake and now she was really nervous about it. Jade had asked her to come along and seeing that it probably wouldn't hurt, she sent a quick text message to her dad saying she was going for a flight with a professional pilot who replied saying it was fine with him. She walked quickly to catch up with Jade right as she introduced herself. "My name is Leslie....but most people call me Newt. Nobody calls me by my name. She walked right behind Jade as she tried to hide her face a little bit because it was blushing with shyness but it kinda failed because her hair was blonde and red was pretty obvious on blonde. "Are you sure this is okay? I-I've never been so close to one. She was speaking quietly but just loud enough so that JAde could hear her voice over the helicopter's idling engine.

As they got closer to the black Eurocopter, one could plainly see there was NO pilot in the right seat. Twister hadn't bothered with her holographic human form for this flight, as she hadn't expected to bump into anyone. "Newt huh? Interesting. I dun really have any nicknames. Oh, please be wary of the rotors-at top speeds they spin up to over 600 feet per second."she shrugged slightly, making sure to walk to one side of the helicopter. "Hey Twister." Jade greeted, patting the right side of the fuselage like it was a shoulder.
"She's right, you should be careful even when they're just turning at idle."Twister confirmed as they approached her."Hello Jade. Want to see if this new buddy of yours would like a flight in a talking helicopter?" she teased slightly, her voice loud enough for them to hear over the rotors and engine. "I promise I won't do any advanced maneuvers...if you don't want me to."
"That'd be sick! Twisty's a great flier, Newt! Wanna come? You can sit in the pilot's seat if you want."Jade replied happily, smiling back at the blonde.

As Leslie approached the helicopter she noticed that Jade had called it a name, and when she didn't see anybody in the pilot's seat she got very nervous as she began to walk slower and slower now kinda in fear of the helicopter that could fly without a pilot. "Jade.....who is flying the helicopter? I've never seen a helicopter without a pilot before." She picked up her pace a little bit to keep up with Jade since she hated being alone but preferred to stay with only a few people. She kept herself wary of the rotors that were still making the heartbeat like pounding even with as close as she was. When Jade asked if she wanted a ride in the helicopter she was nervous mainly because she didn't think the helicopter had a pilot. "Um.....If I know who is flying the helicopter I will, but I don't see any pilot.

Twister thought about this for a moment, half predicting this was going to happen. "On the contrary missy, there IS someone controlling the helicopter. You just cant see them. And unfortunately, this heli only has two seats. I don't think you'd fit in the middle."Twister replied, and her holographic human appeared in the right seat, holding the controls, her feet on the pedals. Her eyes were a dim red, and she wore a black v-neck shirt whose sleeves were a shiny gold, and wore black flared jeans and sneakers. Her hair was almost all black except the tips of her hair and bangs were a bright golden color like the gold on her t-shirt. Her human name, she decided, was Trayla, but she usually didn't need to tell anyone that."For the record, my human name is Trayla. Jade's flown with me before, and I've actually taught her a bit here and there in her free time."
Jade nodded."Trust me when I say it's fun. I'll take the controls when possible if it would make you feel better, but we don't have to."she said with a shrug. "It may be cold, but the wind is so calm today, I'm sure the flight will be however she wants to make it. See, eh...me and Twisty ain't exactly normal. Twister is actually a living being, and I'm just...not your average human, you could say. Regardless, you can trust us."she said, glancing back at Newt with a spark of confidence. Jade wasn't about to tell her that she was basically a humanoid with out the ability to transform, this whole encounter would be a big enough shock for her if she'd never heard of the Autobots before. "We'll understand if you don't want to go."

Leslie was very unsure at this moment because of the fact that the Helicopter just spoke to her and said someone was controlling it, but they couldn't see them. She looked away towards Jade for a moment and when she looked back at the pilot's seat she noticed Trayla appear in the seat so suddenly. It startled her and she took a step backwards, but hearing Jade say it was allright to climb into the helicopter she got a little bit braver. She took another step forward and put one foot on the interior of the helicopter followed by her other foot. Once she was inside she listened to Jade once again who was refferring to the helicopter as Twister and saying that this helicopter was somehow a living being. By what power on Earth was this machine alive? Seeing that Jade was still confident that everything was okay to ride in this helicopter that controlled itself she trusted Jade and climbed into the passenger seat. "I guess I can ride....as long as Trayla or Twister whoever it is...happens to be a qualified flier and pilot. She sat back in the seat still a little bit nervous as she waited for Jade to hop into the helicopter because if Jade wasn't going to ride she wasn't going to either.

[picking up a few posts via Jade's account here.]
Jade glanced at Trayla, then back at Leslie, almost wanting to laugh. Twister/Trayla raised an eyebrow at Leslie."Child, Autobots don't need to be qualified to fly when it's their secondary form. Clearly I'm your first encounter of such a complex race." Trayla stepped out of her real form, and the rotors slowed even further past idle, quieting all together. An instant later, everything happened in a just a second or two: the front and back end of her form literally seemed to fold in on each other, then build upwards; the sides of the fuselage rose several feet in the air and the sides of the fuselage stretched into arms. Twister's robotic form was skinny but very agile, no part of the helicopter seemed to be an accessory. Even her rotors looked like they could be used as weapons. "Jade is right, I am a living being. I am what they call an...Autobot."
She wasn't as big as Interceptor, KITT, Bumblebee, or Optimus, in fact, her size border lined KITT and Bumblebee's, and she was just a bit shorter, and far skinner. Twister was fairly strong yes, but she preferred not to over do it. Twister knelt down next to Leslie, her red optics flashing slightly. "This is why I don't exactly need to be qualified. I've been briefed on the rules of the airways around here, and those little men in the tower only need my name on the frequency to realize I'm an Autobot and have such clearance. Does this make you feel any better?"No, Twister was not saying all this out of mockery, she was just doing this for the heck of it, and to also see if she could get her point across. She could have just said 'yeah yeah i am', leave, and prove it to her through out the course of the flight, but Twister did not want to see Leslie get the wrong idea about her, and not question what Jade meant about her being 'a living being'.
Jade raised an eyebrow when Twister paused--she wondered if she was about to say Decepticon, but clearly, the pause was barely noticeable, and she decided to let it go. Twister had recovered from her transition superbly from what she'd heard and seen, and thus had no reason to doubt these moments would be any different. In Twister's mind, it sometimes felt weird saying this to other people, because she knew that her appearance might indicate other wise. Then again appearances could be deceiving, and Twister was not about to get a paint job, she LIKED black.
Jade eyed Leslie for a bit."Eh, whaddya know. Ya see somethin new every day."she laughed nervously, patting Twister's right leg. Jade 'bumped knuckles' with the holo-form Trayla, who was right in front of the right leg Jade stood near. Twister nodded at Jade, grinning, before turning back to face Leslie. "Yeah. It's okay to be a bit scared, but I promise I won't hurt you."she said, tucking her hands into her cargo pants pockets.

Leslie was nothing short of shocked when she was released onto the ground and watched in amazement as the helicopter transformed into what appeared to be a humongous living alien robot. At first she was scared because she had never really seen an alien before but was ironically interested in the paranormal. She almost wanted to turn and run when Twister knelt down to her face and blinked her big red eyes at her and spoke. So this was what Jade had been referring to when she said that Twister was a living being. She was pretty scared at the moment because she took a couple of steps backwards from Twister as she began to speak about herself. She was fairly intrigued with Twister when she referred to herself as an Autobot and because she was an Autobot had so much clearance it was ridiculous. She looked back over towards Jade who was still not even phased by Twister's amazing transformation and despite how tall and robotic she was Leslie could still tell that she was a female. She wanted to speak but waited when she heard Jade speaking again and watched as she patted Twister's huge leg and comment about seeing something new everyday. More like meet something knew... She thought to herself. Her focus was now taken by Twister/Trayla as she spoke and said it was alright to be scared but promised not to hurt her. "I-I.....I trust you both..... She muttered to herself as she peered back over towards Jade and Twister's holographic form. She had so many questions to ask Twister it was kinda over crowding her own thoughts, but figured she was going to just save them for a later time, possibly even through the flight they were fixing to take.

"Good! Rest assured, this won't be as scary as you fear. I suggest you two back away for a bit,"Trayla said, gently pushing Leslie back a bit as Jade obeyed, knowing she meant she was going to transform back into the helicopter form. Twister transformed back into her helicopter form, and her holographic form disappeared so they could have both the seats. The blades weren't turning, luckily.
"When you exit later, be wary of the spinning blades." Jade advised, pointing to one end of the blades a few feet ahead. They waited until Leslie was buckled inside before closing the doors and powering up. Jade grabbed a pair of headsets in the mean time, and adjusted their size.
Only when Leslie was inside and both doors were closed would Twister start the engine and get the blades turning.

Leslie nodded at Trayla and took a couple steps backwards to avoid being trampled or hit by Twister's transformation. She couldn't help but watch her transformation in amazement. How she could hide all those weapons and different parts inside this compact little helicopter and not have it look like it was about to pop outta place was amazing. When Twister was done transforming she walked back up into the cockpit of the helicopter and buckled herself into the passenger's seat. She also grabbed a pair of headsets and adjusted them to fit her head mainly because she had always wanted to use one of them. "I'm locked in and ready for take off Twister. She gave the console a thumbs up because she really didn't have any idea where Twister's face was in the helicopter form.

Jade sat back and made sure her feet weren't on the pedals.
Twister promptly began increasing the throttle. Thus with more power input, the speed of the rotors increased by a couple hundred RPM, and then some when it reached a certain percentage on the gauges, and then even more when it went to near full throttle. Twister didn't need to check everything like one would in a normal helicopter unless she either wasn't feeling good or just thought she needed to."Everything's in the green."she confirmed in slight mockery, basically confirming all her systems were functioning properly.
The bot took one more look around. A few people were watching from the main sidewalk, but she and Jade paid little attention to them Twister was the only aircraft Jade had ever flown in. She'd never needed to fly when she was with the Decepticons. It wasn't like they'd let her get that far anyway. Jade calmly watched the ground steadily sink away from them from the bubble in the front or the window to her right.
Twister rose up smoothly, keeping a constant, fairly high power setting, keeping her speed in ever so slightly, yet they weren't speeding up. As soon as she cleared the tree lines, Twister's nose/the fore half of the fuselage-dipped down and she sped up to 65 knots in just a few moments. They sunk ever so slightly as they cleared the trees, but the transition effect generated by the rotors as they moved through 'cleaner air'. Keeping the power in, she quickly adjusted and was climbing a steady few hundred feet per minute.
The climb took a little while, and the bot leveled off at 1,500 feet."Where should we go, Twisty?"
"It's up to you guys."Twister replied. She had little preference.
"Hmm. Maybe a visit to tranquility beach or some of the higher places in the city. Or we could go towards the mountains."she glanced at Leslie."Where do you wanna go?"

Leslie hadn't flown in a helicopter before so this was new adventure for her. She sat in the seat quietly as she listened to the heart-beating sound of the rotors pick up their speed as they slowly lifted from the ground. She gripped the seat with her right hand so that Jade would notice her obvious nervousness. She looked outside of the windows and watched the ground get farther and farther away from them and eventually began to relax, she was almost completely at home in the sky. She released her grip on the seat and waited until Twister reached 1,500 feet elevation. She looked towards the console as she heard Twister's voice. She wanted to know where they wanted to go and Jade had suggested the city or the mountains. The mountains sounded like a nice place to go. She after all did enjoy the outdoors some. When Jade asked her where she wanted to go she replied, "The mountains sound like a nice place to go. Could we please go there?
