Chris sighed, making his way down the hallway calmly. He had tried to approach Jazz and Prime about it that morning, but he hadn't seen them around. As such, he supposed his first day as a Medic Trainee would be on the DL, hopefully any patient he may have to work on would agree to that. Though if it got out, he'd cross that bridge when he come to it.
He had spent part of the morning on his homework, but most of it was spent looking over the medical books in his closet. And at around Noon he had begun his long, casual walk towards Ratchet's med bay. He had been very calm and collected about it, so his arrival was quick and swift.
He walked through the Med Bay, and finally made his way towards the door to Ratchet's office. "Hey Uncle Ratchet, I'm here." He smiled, hoping he wasn't later then Ratchet had expected him, he didn't want to make Ratchet mad on the first day.

"Glad to see you've decided to show up." Ratchet said casually, flipping through some forms he used to fill out inspections. "I checked the drone a while ago. It's good to go. There are several training drones that the solders use which need to be repaired. Those should keep you busy for a while. They're in the same room the other was." Ratchet added.
In total there would be more than enough damage on the handful of drones to keep Chris busy the next few afternoons. Plus, there were more drones to be repaired elsewhere, he just didn't like keeping them all in one place because the spacing got really tight. It was harder to keep track of the different drones and parts needed for each if one puts in more than can typically operate on at once. Each drone was marked with a sign on a stretcher. "The medical field, in the world of Autobots anyway, is also a world of cybernetics and mechanics. I'll leave you to decipher what parts you need and what should be done. I will merely observe unless something goes wrong. Since I know you've been here more than once with out my knowledge, I assume you know were most of the common equipment and parts are stored." He gestured to the display of drones, which all had various problems, some worse than the drone he fixed last night, others which just needed some cleaning, repairing some dings and a little preventative maintenance. There was one drone in the room thus far, however, which clearly looked like it was mangled and damaged beyond repair.

Chris nodded slowly, gulping a bit. He did feel a bit of pressure now, he was pretty much Ratchet's apprentice... Now he was litteraly in training to be a medic. He had never been in training to be anything but Prime and admittedly it was very intimidating. His eyes went along, and immediatly he got to work, the first seemed easy enough, a few scratches dents and cracks. He ran the salvant first, and immedaitly taking a lug wrench set out to go to work.
Come on Chris, you've studied and done this tons of times before. Don't let it intimidate you. Ratchet wouldn't want to train you if he didn't think you could do this... He thought to himself, knowing the thought were true.

Ratchet followed Chris as he worked on each drone, and didn't have much to say."Luckily for you, you have as much time as you need to get this set done. Doesn't mean I'm not watching every thing you do." he said calmly as he watched Chris work on the second bot. He just stood still and watched, crossing his arms behind his back most of the time as he paced around like an officer inspecting an airman.

"Yeah I am lucky... I'm not used to doing it under pressure." Chris admitted, biting his lip, but continuing his work "But I guess I have to get used to it. Being a field medic must be full of pressure.." He admitted. Of course it was, you had to run, fight, and help others... Couldn't be the least bit easy. Then there was also the pressure of when a damaged or severely wounded person came in, you had to be able to handle the pressure. All of this swirled in Chris's head, but none-the-less he continued working. He wasn't giving up no matter what.

"It is, especially when you're forced to help patients in severe need while transitioning by cargo plane. Crammed spaces make it hard for a bot. It's like forcing a human to operate on a patient in a helicopter. You have limited tools and have to work fast, taking only the room you need to reach to them fairly easily." Ratchet replied. So far Chris work level wasn't slowing down. He wondered if he could finish all five drones in today with out many mistakes or breaks.
"At some point we'll be doing that. Probably starting out with a med.evac. training helicopter immediately. If we can get the funds I'll consider starting you out in a C-130 or C-17."Those cargo aircraft were so old now, but several modifications had been made on them, and they were still being used because of how reliable they were.
Ratchet guessed the timing of that could be about a week from now unless Chris insisted. With most things like this though, he noticed people usually didn't push for that type of training. It was naturally something most humans didn't seem to find anything more than it being 'exciting' in terms of pressure.

Chris nodded a bit, listening to everything his mentor had to say. He had learned from Prime training that was the best thing to do. And on top of this, if he wanted to be a medic, he had to listen. "That must be incredibly hard." He nodded.
"I'll do whatever you want me to do Ratchet. I know if I want this I have to push myself." Chris replied, making that clear, he wanted this more then anything "Whenever you think I'm ready, I'll do it."
He then went back to his work calmly, fixing up the second training drone and moving onto the third. His concentration never faltered once. Except when Ratchet had spoken, otherwise he had worked diligently with everything he could. He had to, he was going to work his butt off and be a medic if it killed him.

Ratchet was considering spending the next day timing every other operation Chris performed-it would be a good method for getting Chris used to dealing with pressure. Time was a non-reusable resource and was often one of the biggest factors, and this could be said for more than just the medical field. He didn't necessarily feel inclined to make Chris do that today. Going to the fifth drone, he'd consider it. But for now, Ratchet decided let him work in peace.
The third and fourth drone had some major damage on it and would thus require a more knowledge from the mechanic's standpoint. "These two drones need a few parts. Several are non-repairable." several big and small bolts and chunks of armor were torn up or bent, and a lot of the wiring and under armor/skeleton were severely damaged and severed in random places.
Ratchet withdrew his clip-board and proceeded to fill out various observations in regards to Chris's work, but there were also papers for each drone which he had to fill out as they were inspected and repaired. At the end of the day, Ratchet had definite intentions on showing him the various, common paper work that he had to fill out almost every time a patient or bot was repaired.

Chris nodded slightly, thinking for a moment, he panicked now. Parts? He had never gone so far as to replace parts. He gulped, his mind really was in a state of panic, what did he do? His thoughts were immediatly towards Ratchet. He didn't want to sound stupid but at the same time knowing Ratchet was his mentor, he was there to teach him.
"Uh Ratchet... I've never... Uh... Replaced parts of bots before." He didn't know what reaction he'd be given, but hopefully this would be one of those learning experiances.

Ratchet paused to jot down a few notes before replying. "Oh, okay. Follow me." Ratchet turned away and led him outside and to the right down the main hallway, leading him into a large storage facility a few doors down. Shelves upon shelves full of various parts arranged by type, the alphabet and size were placed strategically through out the room on long shelves. "Everything down to wiring and new data chips and certain types of common processors are in here. For unique bots like KITT and Interceptor, their supply tends to run a bit short." He said."You're going to need a substantial amount of smaller wires for the damaged electrical units and some of the armor drones use. We'll get you a welder. I'm sure you've used one of those, right?" he asked, going to one of the stacked set of shelves to the right. There were several along the walls and many right in front of him, some taller than his bot form.
"This facility has everything you could possibly need for all types of bots. Thankfully I get fresh shipments quite regularly, so I'm rarely short of anything unless fights break out day in and day out, which of course, they have in the past." Ratchet added. He led him over to the shelf where the kept the wiring for the drones. "Everything from this wall down are for the drones. Later I'll give you a better tour. For now, we'll get the stuff you need." He pointed to a shelf above Chris's height where the wiring was. "Check and make sure the ends connect to the right part of the form that you want before you leave the room-I'm picky about keeping this place organized so I can find anything I need in a hurry."

Chris listened calmly to everything he had to say. When he asked about the welding torch he nodded. "Yep, when Dad and I worked on my 9th grade science project, remember, the minature photon cannon?" He commented, figuring he'd remember. After all he had provided the torch himself.
Chris nodded looking for the wires Ratchet said to. It was fairly simple, as Chris had a rather good memory, to find the right wires and take them, pocketing them. "Got 'em." Chris told him simply, nodding "I'll keep your orginization in mind, don't worry." He added.

"I think I remember that, yes..."Ratchet paused for a moment and led Chris to a shelf a few slots down two shelves up. In this area, numerous different types of armor and metals were placed various sized boxes. "For the remaining drones, you're going to need more armor. These shelves along with a few more down the left are where you'll find the different types of metal needed. Sometimes you can order the armor and it will already be made, but on other occasions you have to make it. It's a given you'll need more bolts too. Bolts for drones and Autobots all have their own shelves-it's the row right behind us, and just by glancing at all the rows as a whole, you can tell that's its sole purpose."
Ratchet pointed out all the thin armor that he would need for the current drone, along with some of the thicker ones. "Uh, we're going to need a cart. Look for the items on this paper." he handed him his clip board and walked off to go grab a cart while Chris got a head start in gathering all the various pieces.

Chris nodded silently he was still just simply listening and clinging onto every word that came out of Ratchet's mouth. When he was handed the list, he immediately got to work, grabbing various items. A few cannons, some chest plating, a few extra arms, and a leg to be exact. Had he not had superhuman strength, he most likely would have already broken his back. "This all of it Ratchet?" he said as he set the bundle on the ground for a mement. Of course, he was always one to double check stuff like this.

Ratchet's optics skimmed over the parts, and he referred to his checklist for each drone before saying anything else. "Yeah. This should be everything. I know you're strong, but don't hesitate to use a cart. Keeping your back healthy is important for any one." he reminded him. Ratchet pointed to the carts off to the left for future reference then walked out of the supply room. He stood at the entrance. "How much of a robot do you know how to replace? Or not at all? You'll have to show me so I have something to work off of."

"Yeah sorry, you're right, Dad tells me that all the time, habits are hard to break I guess." Chris shrugged, it was the honest truth. He had a bat habit of lifting things either too big for him, or that were in large quantities. All too often Optimus or another Autobot would have to remind him that even with his strength it was a bad idea to lift too much weight.
"I only dabble, I read up on replacing some bits of armor. Mostly on the chestplate though." Chris admitted calmly, shaking his head "The rest I know little-to-nothing about." He added.
