Melissa walked around the fence of an airport outside Tranquility. It was big enough to have a tower. It was a class C airport, in fact. Most of the aircraft that came through were cargo and executive aircraft, along with occasional commuter aircraft for regular passengers transitioning states.
She had walked, jogged and 'flown' from school to come here and work on her school work. Why the heck would a girl do her work in a noisy place like this? Melissa herself didn't really know. It was a nice place, and she liked watching the planes. She usually kept a guide with her too and kept track of the regulars. Melissa walked to a wired fence. It wasn't electrical, so she didn't have to worry about that. All she had was math homework, so she paused to take out her math book, a spiral, calculator and a mechanical pencil from her back pack and tossed it over the fence. It landed just on the other side so she could grab it easily with out getting in trouble. Not many security guards came by here anyway.
Focusing on her powers, Melissa hovered up to the height of the fence. She could exercise her powers and work at the same time and stay perched on this fence. She sat with her legs dangling on the other side, the book in her lap and spiral on top, and began to shuffle through the math problems. Every now and then she'd relax her powers and hold onto the rail as a plane arrived or departed over head.
Other than liking aircraft, who knew why she came here. Melissa avoided her dad for a very big reason, so that she could live a normal life. Yet, she chose to spend time at one of the first places he might decide to terrorize. She didn't really care any more. He was her father, if he'd wanted to kill her by now, she was pretty sure he already would have done so, because she hadn't seen him in a LONG time.

The sun was shining, which made it hotter, and gave off a glare, and also had Garret walking around carrying a bottle of water. He was walking next to a fence, walking backwards really. He was doing so because he had just spotted a nice car, and also because he was watching one of the large cargo planes come down. He hadn't planned his trip, he never did. He was just coming by the airport at random, which is why he was happy to see the giant planes, he found them about as fascinating as he found everything else.
The fact that the huge engines attached to the wings propelled the weight of the airplanes forward. That in turn caused the wings to split the air, with the air flowing downwards producing lift. The wings had to be crafted into a very precise shape, in order to maximize the aerodynamics and use them to the best results. The lift in turn got the plane up into the air, where the friction of the wheels on the ground would not interfere with the machine gathering speed.
Garret kept walking, watching as the plane slowed down, allowing the force of gravity to return it to the tarmac. He turned around and continued walking for a few more feet. Suddenly, he stopped. Something just felt wrong. Maybe it was the fact that he could no longer feel the sun on the back of his head, whereas he could feel it on his legs. That he didn't look at the ground and see that there was a shadow eclipsing the location his shadow's head would have been indicated that he was confused. He didn't try to think about it too long, for one thing, he was enjoying the temporary reprieve, and for another, he didn't feel like puzzling over something that could of just as likely been a small cloud moving in front of the star that provided this planet with heat, and life.

Melissa was drowning in a word problem which required quite a bit of factoring. Dammit I really hate this shit...isn't there some kind of short cut? At this point, she wasn't paying attention to the passenger plane that just landed, OR that another techno organic was near by, OR that she'd lost focus on her powers in getting frustrated with the factoring. ON TOP of that, she wasn't aware of the 'bridging' method that allowed one to immediately figure out which set of numbers one needed to make the total the 'b' term.
Melissa growled and to tore up the paper furiously, completely forgetting that she was on the fence and technically hovering to stay balanced since her hands weren't on the bars (obviously needing them to hold the book and write). So unfortunately, her mind and chakra let go of herself, and in the midst of tearing up the paper with her teeth, she swayed on the fence, still completely unaware of Garret's presence. Melissa tried to hover again, flailing her arms like a bird, but failed and fell abruptly. "SLAG!"

At the sound of something above him, Garret looked up. What was she doing up there? Was she eating paper? Wow. It looked like she had been trying to write something, and hold a book. Garret kept watching as Melissa began to throw her arms around. Then she started to fall backwards, which, if he moved just a tad to the right, was in his direction. As he wasn't the kind of person to actually let someone fall, let alone a girl, he scooted over. The main reason truly being was that he actually knew Melissa, and didn't feel like getting ribbed out for letting her hit the ground, even though this would be about as painful, for him as it would would be for her, if not more. Slaggit.
Watching her fall, Garret shut his eyes, so he wouldn't see her hit him, and stood in the approximate place she would land, his arms spread to catch her, and his feet in a position so that she wouldn't break off his arms, just toss him onto his butt.

Melissa fell with a thunk. Luckily she didn't have her sword and sheath on her, else the fall might have been further uncomfortable for Garret. To her surprise she was caught by something other than the ground immediately. Her heart jumped for a second figuring it was probably just a stranger helping her out, when she realized their presence seemed kind of familiar.
They pummeled to the ground, the math book and spiral rolled off with them. Melissa hovered up and rubbed her head scowling at herself. She turned and looked around at Garret with a dumbfounded look on her face as she adjusted her black t-shirt. "Garret, what are you doing out here? Thanks for catching me." she muttered, rubbing her neck briefly, irritated that she hadn't been able to use her other wise decent reflexes to save her fall.

Underestimating is bad. Garret was thinking that when Melissa hit him, knocking him all the way down to his back. She wasn't really that heavy, he was just that weak. It didn't take Melissa too long to climb off Garret. When she did, he didn't even bother to move. Your welcome. I was just taking a random walk. Nice to be able to catch up on each other's short history again. What's been happening since last time I talked with you, Melissa?
Garret had remained in the same spot, except he had sat up during his short speech. His arms and torso had of course taken the brunt of Melissa's drop, and he was rubbing them. Better me than some stranger, or Autobot. Eh?

Melissa shrugged. "Just school and avoiding Dad as usual. Homework and training. The only reason why I fell was because the math problem distracted me. I usually focus better on any other occasion. I shouldn't have torn up that paper...I had progress...screw it, I'll just do it later tonight." she walked over to the text book and spiral and closed them properly.
Jumping high over the fence, she vaulted over it and landed lightly by slowing down her fall in a brief hover. Picking up her backpack, she hovered back over. "Been trying to kill time on a boring Friday afternoon."

That’s exciting. Garret was being extremely sarcastic. I haven’t been doing much more. Mainly just sitting at home flipping through a few hundred channels on satellite TV, trying to find something that was actually good to watch, when I’m not at school and doing homework anyway. Sometimes, I wish life was a bit more exciting. But, then I remember that for that to happen, Autobots would either have to be trying to catch us, or some Decepticons trying to kill us to try and hurt our parents, even though they wouldn’t likely care. Shockwave most likely wouldn’t in any case. Garret shrugged. He wasn’t sure how much Melissa agreed with him on that score, nor was he even sure that a large number of robots would even bother with trying to kill them for any reasons. He pushed himself up to his feet, he didn‘t feel like sitting on hard sidewalk much longer. Where’ve you been staying at? The same place?

"Yeah, same boring old place."she shrugged, setting down her back pack again."I'd rather not wish for too much action. If I get it, I might regret it. Then again I haven't been training for nothing. I just wish I knew what the hell my future is going to be like...I have absolutely no idea yet except that I enjoy a weird mix of stuff and I'm too young to work yet as far as I know. School's a prison as it is. Will just have to enjoy the boring stuff while I can I guess, I know it won't stay like that forever." Melissa already knew what kind of first job she'd like to have, but again, that wasn't a priority right now. "I doubt my dad gives a damn...I haven't seen him in months, and if I ever did see him, he might try to pretend he forgets I'm his kid or something." she added with a scoff.

Meet any new robots? Or techno organics lately? Garret was desperately trying to think of something he could do to keep from being bored. What he wouldn't do to get anything to take his mind off of the heat. Got any ideas on something fun to do? I'm too bored.
{Sorry a reply took so long and that it is so short.}

[Its ok, sorry mine is just as slow. Havent been too active with Melissa.] "I haven't met any. Been busy trying to avoid failing school. The only times I'm out is training or I'm out here. I usually don't stay too far from my house." she shrugged and sighed. "Normally I just go shopping when I'm bored, check out new hair styles and just do random designing. I'd like some action though. I don't think Starscream envisions me growing up being some random hair sylist." she fiddled with the few sets of normal hair underneath all the bright blue dyed hair on her left side-the natural color being brown. However there was a bit of black there too.
Melissa looked at it some and the sigh turned into a scoff. "Laser tag is always fun and not too violent. Could see a movie or shop but guys aren't shoppers." she was more inclined to staying here but it didn't really matter to her. It was a friday, she should be out having fun anyway. She didn't really spend that much time with Garret, but it couldn't hurt. Melissa didn't have many other friends anyway.

That’s normal. And a bore. I’d like to get some tools and see how I could change my genetics, but I don’t think that Shockwave would be happy if I went and accidentally changed my DNA structure causing myself to die. He watched her fiddle with her hair. He was just bored, and when he got bored he usually just stared off. He didn’t look at anything, but really just thought about something fun to do.
When she mentioned laser tag, he perked up. He wasn’t too fit, but he did like to do anything that could be considered violent. Garret also liked movies, and he didn’t really mind shopping. As long as he got a chance to go by the book store, he was rearing to go. Laser tag. Sounds fun. I don’t really feel like a movie. Or we could go shopping. I do need to go by a book store. As long as I get a chance to see if there are any books I want, I’m fine following you around a mall..

She smiled briefly, rubbing a bit of sweat off her eye brows. It was so humid out here-it was always a little bit more uncomfortable after focusing on her powers for so long, but there was little she could do about it except stay hydrated. She noticed Garret looked kind of dazed, but thought little of it and replied: "Well if there's laser tag at the mall we'll hit two birds with one stone, but okay!" Melissa secured her backpack over her shoulders and began to walk away from the fence, her strides long and confident. "Since that was another failed attempt at completing math homework too, we may as well get going." she said cheerfully.
[this thread is short and sorry the post is as well, but a new one could be made. I'm hoping Iro will join it with Anistasia(sp?) or Starscream.]

Fine by me. Garret made sure he had everything. He hadn't carried a book, so he didn't have to worry about that. He did have his water though, which meant he was ready to go. He followed Melissa. Yep. Right behind you.
{Fine by me.}
