Chri sighed, entering the lounge of the base with a groan. His backpack was weighed down with books, binders, and the like. It had been his first day of Junior Year, and quite frankly, he was ready to collapse. "Fragging teachers, assinging homework on the first day." He grumbled to himself tossing his backpack to the side and collapsing onto the nearest couch.
"Isn't there some kind of law against that?" He muttered. He grabbed the TV controller from the nearest table, and turned it onto some Disney sitcom at once. He figured he had some time to kill before he'd have to do his homework. At least a few hours, maybe less if Optimus found out. He stretched, and got comfortable, keeping his ears alert in case anyone entered.

Being off duty for the afternoon, Ironhide was walking around the base making sure everything was relatively under control. This was around the time Chris was supposed to be home now that school started, wasn't it? Ironhide rounded some corners and approached the side of the base that the lounge was on, thinking he might be there for a break.
At the lounge, Ironhide leaned against the main entrance, his large form thumping into it heavily. "Good afternoon, Chris." Ironhide greeted through the door.

Chris was laughing a bit at the antics of some animated character he never remembered the name of. He looked up at the loud knock on the door, half-expecting his Dad but instead seeing his surrogate Uncle, Ironhide. "Oh, afternoon Uncle Ironhide." He said with a nod, looking at him "Sorry did I have the TV on too loud?" He asked. Ironhide had complained once or twice about either the music or TV being too loud. So he simply thought he'd ask if that were the case again.

Ironhide shook his head a bit. "Eh, not so bad this time." he replied, grunting a bit. He tilted his head to the left. "How was the first day of school?" It was small talk for Ironhide, really. The bot didn't really have an interest in most human's every day lives for the most part...

Chris sighed in relief, usually Ironhide got overly frustrated when it was that way. He loved Ironhide like an Uncle, don't get him wrong. He just hated the mech's temper sometimes. "It was good, long though... We have more classes this year for whatever reason." He then added with a groan "And they gave us homework on the first day." He really shouldn't have been complaining. He had inherited more then his Dad's brawn and height. Chris was a straight-A student, and had been since Middle School. "Don't tell Dad though, I really don't want to do Homework right now."

"A break is fine, but we expect you to be diligent enough about keeping up." Ironhide considered himself a hard worker, and a faithful friend of Optimus. When it came to almost any chore, he was determined to see it through promptly...unless of course his mood was foul, but that was a different category. "Loosing sleep isn't good either...I still can't believe how much sleep humans need." he said, muttering slightly.

Chris nodded, but then quickly looked up when Ironhide brought up loosing sleep. How the heck did Ironhide know he had lost sleep the night before? Had he been crying out in his nightmare? Could Ironhide even hear him all the way back there. "How did you know I didn't get that much sleep last night?" He asked, his bright blue eyes, the same shade as Optimus's optics staring at him with surprise.

"Uh I was saying that as a matter of fact way, but maybe it was intuition also." Ironhide replied with a shrug, appearing a bit surprised. Chris had just admitted to him he'd lost sleep, not that Ironhide was overly concerned or anything, so long as it didn't affect his psychological well being.
He glanced at the TV, wondering what Chris found interesting about it this time. "People and their TV..." he shook his head slightly. "What's on now?"

Chris sighed, he guessed he shouldn't have said that. It wasn't uncommon knowledge that Chris had been dealing with severe nightmares on and off lately. "Sorry, I just thought you said that because... I had the nightmare again last night." He commented.
He then flipped the channel, seeing yet another animated series based on the Transformers. Why, in the last several years, the humans had decided to create a cartoon series was beyond him. "I was just about to change it..." He commented, then eyed the Transformers cartoon before changing the channel "Next thing you know they'll be asking you guys to do a movie." He then looked over at Ironhide "Want to join me?"

ironhide shrugged. "Sure." he replied, and moved over near the couch, sitting down with a heavy thud. He eyed the screen. "Transformers?" he snorted. "How ironic. Are we that interesting to humans?" Little did Ironhide know, even KITT had his own show.
((LOL someone should totally mention that. Tho i dont think ironhide would know *shrugs*.))

(I'd have Chris say something, but for some reason I could not picture him watching Knight Rider.)
"All I remember about it is that when I was really young I used to drive Dad nuts by watching it. He has some sort of belief that they didn't realistically potray you guys." Chris shrugged a bit, then thought for a minute "But when I was little I guess I just liked it because it was a cartoon about him.... Well all you guys, but you get the point." He then added, settling on an action film "Nowdays I'd have to agree with him."

Ironhide stared at the TV blankly, looking pretty bored. "I agree as well. Humans love this stuff though. So I won't complain. It seems they have to make a show out of everything..." He remained still as a statue, having little else to say.
((sorry the post is crap, a bit mentally drained from a long day and a math test.))

"Well I never said I minded it. I actually kind of enjoy it... Call it a guilty pleasure." Chris shrugged lightly, then looked over "I didn't grow up during the war, so watching interpretations of it are... You know, kind of interesting." He then added "It's better then watching the actual war going on as well. Then again, that's pretty obvious."

"Yes, this is understandable." Other than shooting, what was better way to kill time than to sit in front of this tiny little noisy picture box? Course the best time was spent with Chromia or his son, or his mate who obviously no longer existed. Ironhide shrugged off the thought and rested his chin on his left fist, now watching the TV with slight interest. "I'm often out. Maybe I should take a little bit of time to watch this."

"Yeah, you wouldn't be happy with your character though." Chris teased a bit, he had to chuckle a bit "You're role is little, you're a country bot... And you're red." He had to laugh a bit. This was so far from Ironhide's personality it was sad, but he found it funny. "I guess you're canon toting psychopathic nature isn't very kid friendly." He teased.
(Yes he's watching TF: Animated just to make that clear)
