Monday came inexorably. Day of the extermination, armagedon. Massacre, end. End of everything! Cynthia nervously cracking black varnish from nails and every couple of minutes looked at the watch being hanging on the wall. Hands of the clock moved inexorably, ' zero ' hour was more and more close. In twenty minutes for her the first lesson of biology began!. At thought about it she shook her head. The first lesson, the first day in the new job. Cynthia was supposed to have a part-time job as the teacher of biology. She didn't plan it, but the current financial standing forced her to take such steps. With a heavy heart she stood for five minutes in front of the door of a staffroom waiting for anybody of teachers. She tapped several times, but there was no nobody inside. 'Take me from here!'She thought when she saw the group of pupils splitting up to classes. She bit the lip nervously, seeing somebody approaching toward the door. - Excuse me. - said with calm tone, although inside shivered entire from the jitters.

Leo walked through the day, smiling. Well, he woke up smiling until he read on his slip that a few students were ditching his AP class for Senior Ditch Day. He grinned evilly and suddenly stopped when he saw the new teacher. "Hey! You must be the new gu-...girl! I'm Leo Spitz, easier to say then my real name, and I'm the Chemistry teacher, but not in charge of the Science Department. That goes to Rachel. You might meet her later," he stated cheerfully and opened up the staff room, before nodding his head in.
She didn't have her pass key yet, apprently, and he waited for her to walk in. He smiled and waved his hand toward the room. "Want in?" he asked.

- Good day, Cynthia Williams. She said hello politely. She heard out carefully what had to said and looked into the floor. She felt light twitchiness. She has always had a problem with behaving in new situations. - Yes. - She nodded her head and she looked at him. ' Hey! You must be the new gu-...girl! ' Guy? Did he want to say guy? She thought.

Leo laughed a litlte and eased himself into the room. He shrugged slightly and put his files onto a table. His 'files' were, of course, tests, and he gently sat in a seat with a low sigh. He couldn't help but feel exhausted and he rested his head ontop of his file folders before looking up at Cynthia. He smiled a litlte and grinned a little. "How's it goin?" he questioned before he rested his head back on the folders.
He rubbed his forehead slightly and then looked around a little. He grinned a little and then went back to resting his head against the folders. He needed sleep, really, but the big tests needed to be graded. Some were surprising, some were expected...one was surprising for the wrong reason, one that he just tossed out and failed the person.
"Wait till you get tests," he suddenly muttered.

Cynthia went into a room and she sat down in the armchair by him. She looked at the pile of tests. Leo looked very much tired out. Cynthia was accustomed to the lack of the sleep. Since when she started studies and worked in weekends was worn out all the time. A few coffees with milk soya and you can work all day long. This pile didn't look bad this way. Cynthia could not do nothing. She swept hair aside by the ear. - Checking tests won't be so bad. - She said. She sat down on the chair more comfortably, she crossed her legs and she started watching furniture in a staffroom.

Leo laughed and stated, "That's what I said as well. It depends on what class you have. The classes I have, four normal one AP, requires that I work double-hard for my AP class. Grading tests is a pain, plus adding it all into the gradebook and making sure all the kiddies' grades are right unless you screwed up. A majority of my night was spent doing that part."
He laughed a little again and rubbed his eyes before staring at the clock. Sorting through his tests, he grinned and pulled one out. "This kid, got an F, but because his parents are on the school board, I had to write a whole long thing about how I was going to be giving their son tutoring in Chemistry because he's not getting a handle on it. That, is a fun kid, and this one; AP and works hard on their own. In need of help, questions are asked. Between the two, I'd rather help the second, but I have to help the first," he suddenly stated, before putting the tests back.
"So, what's brought you here?" he asked, leaning back slightly to stare at her.

- What here is getting me? - repeated his question. - How I am supposed to be sincere it is mainly a financial standing. I bought the house in with garden some a year ago. I took the student loan. Recently prices very much rose. I don't live with the father, alone I am earning a living. And next, studies are for me too little. I want to share my knowledge with other. - She said and shyly she smiled. Cynthia was best on her year and all the time she felt the unsatisfied feeling of the knowledge. I hope that I will encounter the AP class. A double work is pleasure. Particularly if you are doing what you like. She wiped her green eyes. She felt that the eyelash had fallen her into her left eye. She sighed. - Differently is with assessing pupils. Even a problem with judging a student. How many times somebody of friends of mine passed the examination only because he had somebody at the college. She finished her statement. Probably she started rambling on. Admittedly she has rarely spoken, unless she had something to say.- Probably I am talking too much when I am when lightly anxious. She tried to smile apologetically, portraying her white, smooth teeth. All the time she played with the strap from the skirt.

Leo smiled and shook his head, waving at her. She was amusing and he waved his hand slightly again. "Talk is good. I won't let him pass because of that though. He is a foolish child, holds no candle to the frat-boys I wanted to be in college. Ugh, I can't beleive that I was ever that foolish," he stated and did a dramtic faint looking thing before he grinned at Cynthia, then sat up slowly.
He stretched and sighed softly. He looked at the clock and rubbed his eyes. He had a quirky little smile on his face and he tapped his fingers lightly against the table, near his folders. It kept things organized.

- A few years of studies are still awaiting me. Generally it isn't at university so badly. Sometimes short misunderstandings are happening with teachers. Several times I rushed out from classes to my hair colour. - She pointed with hand to her's red hair. She felt stupidly and lightly she browned. For a few minutes she fixed her eyes on the cupboard fitted with glass with tests. Papers was well-organized evenly, according to the class. To think that in a few days alone she will be checking them. - I don't want to be discerning, but how many years you are teaching at this school? -She asked interested. This time, out of nervousness she started tapping with fingers against her knee. She tapped out the melody, with which she played the violin yesterday.

Leo listened, being careful with how he phrased his words. Seeing the faint tapping, he moved automatically and gently grabbed her wrist, then quickly pulled back. "Sorry..." he murmurred and closed his eyes a little.
He looked thoughtful and shrugged. "A few years, not many. I got out of college with a master's degree in Chemistry and I decided I didn't want to be far from my suragate family...so I moved here, got a job, bought a house when I had the money, two doors down from my best friend and life went on merrily. Even my girlfriend was happy enough to come along for the ride. She's a great gal, but she didn't mind coming here," he explained.

- I am going to finish college and leave this town. In the small small town perhaps it to be hard to find a good job. I have always wanted to do research. She did the face a little bit offended, when Leo gently grabbed her wrist. She didn't like it. - Well to hear that arranged good in your life. - She said politely. - If it concerns my life, I won't tell that to run down my thought. - She stopped and she fell into a pensive mood. She didn't want too much to say. Most probably he wasn't interested in details.- Now I can't complain. I have the house, work, studies. My family lives a few streets from me. I live with the cat and my... Oh well... - She browned and she bit into the tongue. - With friend. She looked into the ceiling. She felt light embarrassment. What was I supposed to say? With the girlfriend? She thought.

Leo looked embaressed as he released her wrist and kept calm. He relaxed a little as she seemed to let it go and waited for her to finish, before raising an eyebrow slightly at her. He shook his head a little and nodded slightly. "That's a nice plan. You and your friend close?" he inquired soflty before leaning back to go through more of his tests.
He flipped through them half-heartedly, almost, and shook his head at them all. "You can only hold your knowledge to them, you cannot force them to accept it. Sometimes, it is in one ear out the other," he murmurred before tossing the folders onto the table top with little thought.
"Getting out of town might be fun for you. You should do it, with your...friend," he added, though he truely thought her 'friend' was more then just that.

- Yes, I and my friend are close. We know ourselves up to the childhood. We lived in one street, a few houses from oneself. - She took the packageo of orange Tic Tac out of the bag. It was still half a packet left. She took out a few and took the packet out so that he can treat. She bit into a sweet with the quiet crack. - I don't know, whether my friend will want to get town out with me. She is attached more to this city than I. - She stretched legs, she felt that they had become numb for her from sitting. She watched the pile of tests. - Perhaps you will break away from these tests and you will show me around the school? Shame to admit, but I don't know where my class will be. I only know how to enter the school and where a staffroom is.

Leo looked up at the suggestion and nodded, before pulling the files up into his arms and walking out calmly. "Least I can do," he responded and nodded head towards the door.
"The first thing...find out where your classroom is. Second thing...show you where the sceince teachers' staff room is. We're lucky. Each department, from English to our Theatre, has its own staff room," he explained and moved to leave, though he held the door open.
He stared at some kids, then stepped to the side. "Look, no skeletons, no chains, no locked up studnets," he joked and he smiled warmly at their astonished faces.
"Always wondered that too," he added.

Cynthia left the room, covering with the heavy pouch the shoulder. She looked around the corridor. -Every department have other room? - repeated. - Nice, already I can see how I am late to the school, searching for an appropriate staffroom. - She joked. She rubbed eyes and she glanced at her watch. She had some 10 minutes for starting the lesson. - In 10 minutes I am starting. I hope that quickly we will find my class. Cynthia was already slightly anxious. Probably afraid of meeting with students. But always the stress fades after a few minutes, when accustomed to new people.
