As Ratchet came in, Optimus figured he would figure out about the wound Nemesis had gifted him with, but Ratchet came right away to examine it. As the medic had asked, he held still, allowing Ratchet's job to be easier. When Ratchet had finished, Optimus turned to face Chris, who was speaking. "But we don't have all the information yet, Chris."
Ironhide rose his opinion, and Optimus turned to him. "When do we have time on our side?" As Ratchet asked what was going on, Optimus turned to face him, his optics staring into a place far away. "Nemesis and I had a run in, and he warned me of Unicron, and how he needed Chris dead so his master could come back. We were discussing as to why Chris is so important for their plans and why if Chris is still alive, Unicron is still in threat."

Ratchet Finished his patch job on the armor. He listened as Optimus explained what had happened. It was all very much disturbing to hear. Not to mention the fact that Unicron himself wanted Chris dead. But that brought up the memory of what Chris had told him a while ago. Primus was trying to speak to him. Perhaps to warn of him of this? Or to try to give Chris the missing piece of the puzzle they were oh so looking for.
Ratchet turned to Chris, "Chris, Your dreams, have you managed to decipher anything Primus is trying to tell you? He could be trying to give us the missing piece of this damn puzzle.

"Not that much... I heard 'Dark' and 'Light' that's about it... Nothing the least bit helpful." Chris commented, crossing his arms slightly, shaking his head "Guys, I get Unicron's dangerous, but there's no reason to freak out... He isn't here yet... I'm fine." Clearly he didn't understand that whether Unicron was there or not he was in severe danger.

Ironhide nodded and he listened to Optimus speak. "Never" He muttered athis reponse to Optimu's question. "There's always time for preparation Chris. You can never be too sure when you're in a war." He sighed lightly. "We shouldn't let our gaurd down, if we do then we'd just be giving in. Whether he's here or not."

As Ratchet finished patching his armour, Optimus nodded gratitude to the medic. When it came to the field of medic's, there was no one better for the job than Ratchet. The yellow bot brought up the topic of Chris's dreams, and Optimus turned to face his son. As Chris spoke, Optimus thought for a second. "Did Primus actually say just Dark and Light, or did he say something more?"
He sighed as the next words left Chris's mouth. "That's not the point, Chris. Unicron can't come back until you're dead. And Nemesis will do anything to kill you, as he told me. The danger's here now." Turning to the two Autobots, he spoke to them directly. "I want a constant guard on Chris. This is no matter to take lightly. He leaves NEST, and there will always be an Autobot with him." Desperate times called for desperate measures.

Ratchet listened to all of them, using their input to possibly create a viable option. He nodded as Optimus declared Chris was to be guarded at all times now. Ratchet agreed.
"It doesnt matter if he is here or not. Unicron has many servants, all more than willing to kill you if it means just a tad of recognition." He looked at optimus. "I agree we cant let Chris be endangered, a watch is most wise."

"What!? At all times!?" Chris questioned, his mind screaming 'no!' "But Dad, that isn't fair, I have dates, friends... You guys can't follow me into movies and stuff!" He argued, doing his best to get out of this situation. He understood and listened to what the others had to say, but what Optimus had said caused him to talk out of turn.

Ironhide stood there, rendered mute as he listened to Optimus. "That is very much well understood Optimus.... But thee has to be some obvious reason of why Chris is such a threat to the Decepticons. We must be missing something.... But what?" He questioned, he then continued with, "I mean we all know what Unicron is capable of. Why is Chris such a threat that he must be distroyed?" He asked Optimus. He fiured that there must be some logical reason of why Chris must be distoryed.
He nodded in agreement. "I believe that would be very wise also." He then turned to Chris. "We can follow you, and we will. Its for your own benefit. Unless you'd rather be captured and distroyed, then I suggest that you get used to it." Ironhide knew that he sounded harsh, but he had good intentions. And this was a very serious matter.

Optimus knew that he would need Ratchet and Ironhide to side with him. Right away, it was clear Chris wouldn't like what he was told, and Optimus respected that. Chris was only a teenager, and that meant he didn't understand the seriousness of the situation. A sigh rumbled through the leader, and he turned his gaze once again to Chris.
"Both Ratchet and Ironhide are right. Think about it Chris, if the only way for Unicron to come back means that you need to be back, then Nemesis or any other Decepticon would kill you. I don't like doing this, but you need to understand my position." He paused, and took the time to answer Ironhide's request. "I don't see what makes Chris so special. There's nothing different from him than the other techno organics. Your son, Ratchet's daughter, they are like Chris to. But Chris is able to throw energy pulses, but I highly doubt that's it." This was all very puzzling to everyone, and he knew that.
Turning back to Chris, he asked one more question. "I want to know Chris, if you were in my situation, what would you do?" If Chris had a chance to tell waht he would do, than that could help him understand the seriousness of the situation. Plus, it would work on his leadership skills. After all, the Autobot leader couldn't survive forever.

Ratchet sighed at Chris's response but he knew it would come. The boy had friends and a life that he yearned to keep. But he did not seem to grasp the depth of this situation.
"Chris I know you find this unfair. Believe us we would much rather have you free to do as you wish. But please understand that, if Nemesis attacked you with your friends around, he would not hesitate in removing them. So please if not for your own sake, then theirs, allow us to protect you. We would all be devastated to lose you."

Inside, Chris was ready to explode, but at the same time he understood what they were saying. They just wanted him safe, to know that nothing could happen to him. He was sure it would have been no different if Ironhide's son or Ratchet's daughter were standing here.
So he settled on being nice about it. "I know what you're saying Dad, I just wish you'd trust I can handle myself more." He shook his head talking to him with nothing but respect, and looking at the others calmly before climbing from the desk "I need to learn to protect myself too."
He began walking to the door, then turned his head slightly. "I'll be in my room if you need me." He said, needing to calm down. He was frustrated and he didn't want to explode on them. And so he walked out the door heading down the hallway to his room.
(Chris has left the thread)

"Chri-," Ironhide began to say, but not quickly enough, Chris had already exited the room before he could even finish his name. He shook his head lightly. He understood that Chris didn't want to be watched all of the time, but it was for his own well being. Though he did agree with the his statement about, Learning to protect himself. That was necessary. But it was too soon to let him go off without an Autobot wit him. He knew that rest of the Autobots agreed with him also.

Optimus nodded as both Ratchet and Ironhide agreed with him. The two were two of his most trusted Autobots, and had been with him during the first attack on Earth with Megatron. Of course, that battle had ended with victory to the Autobots, but at a cost. The Autobots had lost their first lieutenant, Jazz.
Turning to Chris, he watched as his son left the room, and Optimus made no motive to stop him. Chris needed some time to think, and Optimus knew that, and who was he to take that away from him? He already took away his freedom, and he didn't like doing that, but Chris would soon understand what Optimus had meant. And the sooner the better.
Optimus shook his head slightly, then turned and faced the two fellow Autobots in the room with him. "Chris will be ok. He'll understand that we're doing this for his own protection." But the thing Optimus couldn't let go of was how Chris thought Optimus didn't trust him. It wasn't Chris Optimus didn't trust. It was the Decepticons, Nemesis and Megatron especially.

Ratchet rubbed the ridge between his optics. He didnt like doing this to Chris but as Prime had stated it was for his own good. Perhaps the boy could protect himself, but against a horde of Decepticons bent on his destruction?
"He is a smart kid Optimus. Im sure he understands. But he is young and yearns to live his own life. I can only hope we can help him achieve that one day..."
