Hammerfist knew that his speed wasn't the best, but oftentimes made up for it in durability, staying power, and of course, courage. However, he came equipped for all three ranges. Missiles for long range, a hefty underslung machinegun on his right arm for mid-range, and his trusty hammer for when it came to get up close. The hammer that helped him live up to his designation.
However, it seemed that his assailant was a tad too quick for him as the Decepticon moved back outside of the swing of his hammer. And even before his swing was through, his foe was coming upon him fast with his blade poised to strike. Knowing he couldn't redirect the momentum of his hammer fast enough, he simply let go of it and let it fly through the air and unfortunately smash into an unoccupied car.
Hammerfist gave nothing in return except for a battle fueled roar as he swung his right arm up just in time to intercept the blade. He let out a grunt as he felt the blade cut through the machinegun on his right arm and bite into his actual forearm. With the blade now wedged into his new wound, he let out a howl as he threw a punch right for his opponent's head.

Kaos had no time to react as Hammerfist retaliated and got punched square in the jaw. He released his sword as he was knocked back flying into the side of a building. He rubbed his jaw with his forearm and glared at his opponent before pushing himself off the building and back onto his feet. His sword was now embedded in the autobots forearm. Sure enough he would rip it out and toss it away from them both so Kaos could no longer handle a close encounter.
He looked over at Optimus and KARR and noticed the Autobot commanders back was to him. If he didn't already have his hands full with Hammerfist Kaos would have snuck up on Optimus and stabbed him through the spark with his sword. Unfortunately neither was available to him at this time.
He looked back at his opponent and motioned his hands in the classic 'come on' gesture. "That the best you got slag-bot?" he asked, mocking him.

With a shout, Hammerfist dislodged the blade from his forearm and looked down at it. Normally, one would toss the blade aside, but Hammerfist spent most of his time with a weapon in his hands, and this sword of his foe's felt much lighter and nimble than his trusted hammer. Overcome with the spirit of battle as KARR's missiles exploded around him (and several against his back), he ran towards Kaos and emitted a metallic howl as he brought the blade down at Kaos as if he were going to cleave the 'con into two.

What the slag? The autobot was using his own weapon against him now. That sword was made out of Cybertanium so he knew it would cut through him with ease. He quickly transformed into his jet mode and took off into the skies before Hammerfist could reach him.
He flew up and then back around and opened fire on Hammerfist with everything he had, missiles and laser fire heading straight at him in a wide arc. The laser blasts taking up the center while the missiles were scattered mainly on the outside with some mixed in the lasers.
"Use my weapon against me I'll kill you!" Kaos yelled in the middle of his attack. There were 12 missiles coming down with the unlimited hail of laser fire.

He looked up at his escaping foe with a glare. Hammerfist let fly his own salvo of missiles that arced upwards at first before gaining their bearings and homing in on Kaos. "Sønnen av en tispe!" he shouted, the ongoing heat of battle causing him to let some of his 'native' tongue slip. A missile slammed into the front of his calf and his left shoulder as several of the laser blasts grazed him as he dove to the side.
He hit the ground with a loud clang and tucked into a roll. Hammerfist found himself behind a large delivery truck which provided adequate, yet finite cover against Kaos's weapons. He had another set of missiles primed and ready to go if Kaos made a second pass over in his jet mode.
