Annie was walking down the sidewalk, silently counting the steps from her front door to the corner she was headed for. With a smile, she gently brushed the post with her fingers and turned to the left, counting again, with almost even steps. She continued to count and she shifted as she slowly kneeled down, gently brushing her fingers along the sidewalk, feeling the cracks there. She smiled, for a moment, as if relishing over the rough texture and the way the jagged cracks felt before she slowly stood, pulling her cane out of the rut that was the jagged crack.
She shifted and continued to walk, counting from where she had left off. She paused as she came to another corner, touching the post to insure herself of that. Listening carefully, hearing that it was safe, she began to move forward, tapping the cane to catch the sounds, soon finding the step down from the curb, walking into the street in an oddly, perfectly, straight line to the next curb.
Of course, she was positive that no cars were coming…there couldn’t be any cars that quiet, right?

Ratchet was taking a ride in the suburbs. he had a lot on his mind and was lost in his train of thought. His sensors picked up the girl as she walked ahead of him. He slammed his brakes....hard. He yelled, "WHAT THE SLA.......oh...." was all he said as his bio scan showed the human to be blind. He saw her holding the cane, which also added to his conclusion.
"Im sorry If I frightened you...I did not realize you were blind. My apologies...." Ratchet wouldnt say it but he was embarrassed to say the least.

Annie let out a startled scream as she heard, not only a shout, but a screech of brakes. She fell to the ground in surprise, in the middle of the street, staring in the general direction that was Ratchet's alt mode. She sat, shivering, her mind almost wiped blank of where she had just walked, the street hard, rough, hot, under her hands.
Her sense of touch was blazing almost, like her feeling always did when she became frightened or startled. She sat there and tried to vocalize her responce, before almost giving up. "It's...all right. I didn't...didn't hear you," she managed to responded, finally.
She was still sitting there, however, gaining her barings on the hot ground. She was sure that was the only part of her world that was normal. How could she have not heard him? She shivered a little, despite the warmth that came from around her, and she slowly began to move, almost distantly, to stand up, only to stop with low hiss of pain.
Really? Was this happening right now? She immediatly began to feel down her leg and found that her fingers gently touched across something that was warm...and a little gritty. Pulling her fingers up, she sighed. "Okay, I think I skinned my leg," she muttered, shifting to get up, keeping one hand on the ground.

Ratchet instantly scanned the injury. it was not serious but the possibility of infection still loomed. He activated his holoform, opening his door so as to make believe that someone was actually driving. He walked up to her and asked softly, "I am a medic would you like me to take a look at that?" He asked. He felt guilty about nearly running her over and then yelling at her when it wasnt her fault.
"Let me help you to the rear of my wagon so I can get to my supplies." He directed her to the back of the ambulance. He offered her to sit on the edge of the vehicle while he looked at her wound.

Annie looked up at the sound of the door opening, eyes focusing (not really) at the door and jumped when she heard Ratchet's voice so close, sending her back to the ground with a soft sound when she hit. She looked at him and nodded slowly. "Sure," she responded softly and slowly got back up again.
She winced as she walked forward, her leg not wanting to take the weight too well. She shifted and slowly reached out until she felt the soft, cool, metal that was Ratchet's alt mode. She shifted and slowly ran her hand down the side, insuring she didn't run into anything.
It wasn't that she didn't trust the guy directing her, just that people had issues when directing her. Only her mom was wonderful at it, but she still managed to have Annie accidently crash into things. Her dad gave up after the second broken nose, and this was a stranger.
When she found the bumper and slowly sat down. She shifted and leaned down a little, wincing as she touched the scraping. She shivered a little, as if something was off-setting, and she used her unbloodied, unstained, fingers to rest the palm of her hand against the bumper, to balance lightly. "Ah...shit! I can't remember my step count," she muttered, realizing she had forgotten it.
In the rush, she had wiped her memory clean of it almost.

Ratchet took out a disinfectant spray and some neosporin. "This will sting a tiny bit..." he said as he misted the injury after wiping it clean with a towelette. He then applied some Neosporin and put a bandage over it. He had her mutter and was puzzled.
"Step count? Is that how you map out your surroundings?" he asked. This girl seemed quite intelligent given her dissability.

Annie winced as the spray went across her scrape and she looked in his direction. She shifted a little and looked down at him, as if processing his question before nodding. "Yes. Step count and turns, along with some...landmarks. Like that most. From my front step the front gate post, is about 20 even steps. Turn left and it is 45 steps to the stop sign slash street sign, and to the right it is 60 steps to the stop sign slash street sign, since I'm not sure which it is. After that, I am lost however. For longer trips, I usually have a clicker that reads back the steps I've taken and I just remember landmarks. I hope to avoid touching cars, since they can move....which is obvious, but...yeah.
"So...to answer your question, yes I do," she responded.
She shifted and suddenly noticed something. She looked down at the bumper, blinking a little. She looked surprised and she lifted her hand slightly, then moved her hand to another spot. She blinked and did this a few more times. "The bumper is warm..." she commented softly, looking surprised over this.
She shifted and looked at where Ratchet's holoform was. She looked down at where her bandaid was now over her scrape. She shifted and waited to see if she could stand up again. She shifted and got up, slowly. Her cane began to shift and she winced as her cane hit where the scrape was.

Ratchet listened as she explained how she managed to move about even with her handicap. "That is very Interesting. There is more to you than meets the eye it seems." Ratchet told her with a chuckle. He noticed her fidgeting with his bumper and then her statement.
"Oh...its...uh...probably from the exhaust Dear......" he said trying to play it off.

Annie almost glared. Heck, she would have, but she could tell when people lied. The fact he said 'um' was a dead give-away. She could either let it go, or call him out and she shook her head. "Oh for the love of...you are just like that guy I met at the Lake! You are both so...quiet. How do you do that? Seriously, because I can't hear you and usually....I hear everyone. It's small. A squeak of their shoes, a rustle of their clothing, the way they exhale. You, and him...are equally quiet. The only thing that is telling me that you, aren't him, is the fact you're voices are different...very different. Also, you don't hold the same curiosity," she commented, loudly.
She just didn't like being told lies. They disoriented her when she was trying to find out things and when she got confused...she got lost. She could never live down getting lost in her grandmother's house from her cousins because they decided to move a chair. One chair and she got lost in the living room! She sighed softly and went back to resting her fingers lightly against the bumper, but always the unsoiled ones. "You know, my cousins once changed one chair and I got lost...in the living room. One chair. They lied to me. I should have guessed that, they were giggling but....I was probably about seven at the time. Being disoriented has never been among my more favorite things to have happen to me," she commented, feeling the warmth.
Warmth like life. She had felt this warmth before. Surronding her hands when she held someone's hands, when she saw her mother's face again, even when she had it memorzied, and under her hands when her aunt was pregnant, again. "It's warm....like life," she mused out loud before moving to get up again.
"I think I might be able to get home," she commented outloud, managing to stand up, though she was lop-sided, due to her injury.

Ratchet scratched the back of holographic head. Perceptive little human.
"you've met another 'quiet' person like me?" He asked. This could be important. If she had come in contact with another autobot then that means they had another friendly, Decepticon, another enemy. He listened to her story about being lied to and its repercussions. He felt bad for lying to her but this was really sensitive stuff....
"No need. I can take you home if you would be so kind to tell me where you live." He was debating on whether or not to reveal the truth to her.

Annie gave look that was confusion and something else, most likely curiosity over why he wanted to know. She nodded slowly and responded, "Yeah. He was really quiet. We had a nice chat. A very curious boy. He allowed me to "see" him. Most people are uncomfortable with that. I think he was just curious over how that would feel."
She smiled a little over that memory and shook her head slightly. As she moved to get up, slowly standing, she wondered over how to get home. She blinked a little, surprised over the offer, and nodded. "Sure...just let me pull the numbers out of my head," she stated and paused.
Most people thought it odd when she was remembering things. She had to trace them, kind-of, in the air. Not entirely, but as if she were remembering how they felt. She seemed to stare at nothing and briefly traced the numbers through the air, before smiling. "1522 North Palm Street," she responded softly, with a slighlty embaressed look on her face.
She was pretty sure she was rather close to home, which didn't help.

Ratchet Looked up her address on the internet and found that they were not all that far away. But before he could let her leave he had to find out more about that other quiet guy she spoke of. That of course meant that he would have to reveal the truth, Optimus would have to strip his gears later this was important.
"So my dear allow me to introduce myself," He paused realizing he didnt really have a human alias set up so he winged it, "...Ratch...its an old name given to me during the war i participated in." It wasnt a lie so he wasnt worried about it.
"So have you heard about those alien Robots everyone is talking about on the news? It sure seems far fetched I know. But tell me what would you think if they were real?"

Annie smiled a little and quickly began to place his age. So, he was probably in his 50s. She shifted a little and wondered how a man, called Ratch, became an EMT, before she shrugged a little. She looked over at him, or in his direction anyway. She looked at him a little and responded, "Yeah. But...so much is contriversary. I...beleive they are real, just like I beleive there are colors. I don't have to see them or take other people's word for it to beleive they are there."
She smiled more at that and thought. She wondered what brought this up, but, eh. She could live. She resecured her hand on the cane and "watched" the way her hands gripped at her cane. She wasn't sure why, but her cane felt so cold in her hand. She hesitantly reached out and touched Ratchet's door, drawing off that warmth that came from the vehicle. She wasn't sure why, but she loved teh feeling of warmth that came from Ratchet.
She didn't understand it, but she loved that feeling of warmth that came from Ratchet. Maybe it was her other senses telling her she could trust Ratchet, or maybe it was just the fact she needed that comfort after such a frightening experience or that she just was so used to doctors that she just naturally relaxed around Ratchet.
Either way, she enjoyed that warmth. She thought it odd it felt warmer inside the vechicle and she kept her hand easy, light, on the door.

That was a surprising answer to say the least. But he admired her truthfulness in the matter.
"Well since you already believe they exist, what would you say if I take you to meet one? You'd be in absolutely no danger. I give you my word that you will be brought back to your home safe and sound without a scratch, at least without any more." He added with a chuckle.

Annie looked over at him in surprise and thought over it. She considered it for a moment, before realizing that she was on a walk and if her parents worried, they would call. She looked thoughtful before nodding slowly. "That would be...intresting," she responded after some thought, not moving her hand from the door.
The warmth was oddly comforting. She was inclined to be near that warmth. She shifted a little and nodded. "Yes...I think I would enjoy meeting one of the robots everyone is talking about," she added, as if just going with what she already thought.
'Not saying entirely nice things, but talking about all the same,' she added in thought, her eyes sparkling with amusement along with the rest of her face.
She looked out the window, her forehead gently bumping against the glass, as if to watch the world go by, though she couldn't. It was just something she did that made people think she was the normal bored teenage girl on a car ride with her parents or family friend who was taking her somewhere she was pretending not to want to go to, though the excitement was obvious along her body, her face. She could never learn to hide her emotions, because she never saw a reason to hide them.
