Parked to the side of a play ground in Tranquility, The Knight Industries Two Thousand, a black t-top Pontiac TransAm, was sitting outside. His glossy, pitch black nano-skin shell shimmered like volcanic, glassy obsidian in the sun light. The red, single scanner at the front of the long hood paced back and forth in a hypnotizing manner, humming ever so faintly. If one looked inside at the dash board and the steering wheel, it was a totally unique layout. It was late in the afternoon, and KITT found himself by a playground full of kids. Michael was out interviewing some suspects a block away and so to relieve some suspicion, KITT agreed to stay back a little. "At least around here I won't have to worry about some thug trying to hotwire me." They always failed miserably anyway with his bullet proof nanoskin and extra features no one but Knight Industries knew about, but still, it was definitely annoying. It was also annoying when dogs occasionally peed on his tires. KITT never appreciated being a substitute fire hydrant. Out of boredom, he kept his scanners on the playground periodically, making sure everything looked okay. ((Reference pics for KITTs dash board: KITT'S voice box thing. It moves when he talks (the pics huge so here's a link): i4.photobucket.com/albums/y144/blackcountach101/Knight%20Rider/kittdisplay2-1.jpgAlso please remember he isn't really an Autobot at this time. He's just a super awesome artificially intelligent vehicle! ))

Chris was young, very much so, he had only been on Earth for two years to be exact. The seven year old was on the other side of the playground where there was a small basketball hoop for little kids. Even then he had a love of basketball, something that would stick with him his entire life. His eyes moved as the basketball hit the side of the rim and bounced away.
Groaning from frustration the toddler ran after it. Realizing it had hit some car he bit his lip but calmly made his way to it. Noticing no driver, though the windows were tinted, he slowly bent down and picked the ball up. The car had an odd feel too it, almost.. Familliar, like a Cybertronian but not quite the same.
That's weird... He thought simply. Standing there and holding his ball calmly, as if frozen staring at it.

Thump. The basketball bounced straight for KITT, hitting his right side lightly. He'd seen it coming, but it was just a harmless basketball. Originally, KITT was just going to dismiss the situation thereafter like any normal vehicle would. KITT quickly scanned the kid and found that something was very different about him as far as he could tell. He didn't have every single spec, but no...he couldn't be thinking what he suspected, could he? KITT got strange unexplainable vibes (they were unexplainable for an AI anyway), and it was happening again. His sensors were (quietly) going off. KITT watched the kid, wondering why he was still staring at him in such a different way then he was used to. Him not being entirely human was surprising enough. As far as he knew it wasn't possible! At this time in his life, KITT didn't even know about the Autobots. He wasn't even one himself.
Should I speak? Little kids often look long glances at me, but...this red flag...something is going off. I can't describe it. KITT thought in confusion. It was then he decided to test the kid's curiosity and succumb to his own temptation. Doing this little process would confirm if his sensors were really working right. All systems were in the green...yet he had such a weird feeling about this. Supposedly KITT didn't get 'weird feelings'-thus what caused the temptation.
Not using his real voice, he played a British woman's instead:
"You are too close to this vehicle, please back away." KITT remained still, as he should. His headlights didn't pop out and no alarms went off...

Chris jumped back slightly, still clutching his basketball. The woman's voice had startled him as he thought the car was just parked. Like any seven year old, he thought there was indeed a woman in the car. Just because outside of the Transformers, he knew no other cars that could talk. "Sorry mam, I-I was just getting my ball." He stammered out a bit nervously.

A blue Angel flew above, high enough to only bemistaken for something else such as a bird or something since the glare of the sun made it hard to tell it was a jet, especially a stunt plain. In fact it was no ordinary jet, it was ahrd to tell though since the Blue Angel did loops, twists, and turns that were so ordianry to any human...the flaw was the red symbol on the tip of the wings. Going slightly higher the jet transformer to a giant robot, the young Skyrider looking down at the playground. "Humans are so strange sometimes,. I wonder why they are so advanced for their technology yet so primitive in mind." She said to herself. Quietly and being careful of styaing out of sight the femme landed on a near by building observing the area. One thing that caught ehr attnetion was the 7 year old holding a basketball and the odd car...they had her sensors on alert for some reason. But what for?

KITT watched the unmarked Blue Angel fly over head. UNMARKED Blue Angel. It seemed to be different too. Was it manned? His scaneners couldn't tell. For some reason it disappeared behind some buildings farther off in the distance. That is equally peculiar...KITT thought with confusion.
KITT noticed the kid was still standing here. Was he hesitating or just not inclined to move? He switched off the current voice he had, keeping his own. Should he be upfront and just strike a conversation with this kid? It seemed like a weird idea to him...KITT mentally shrugged. Why the hell not.
His male Boston accent (a little bit more plain than the female voice) spoke out.
"It's okay." KITT replied. "Why on Earth are you looking at me like that for? I'm not a little green alien."

Chris stared blankly at the man, not even think for a few moments. Had that voice just changed? He could have sworn it was a birttish woman a few minutes ago. His first thoughts were 'Autobot' but he wasn't too sure. He saw no sign of an Autobot shiled on the car, so his mind had to wonder if this was the case.
His more acute eyes slowly rotated in a way that mirrored optics. It gave him a slightly better seeing range and at once he noticed there was no driver in the car. His brain incapable of thinking KITT could be anything else, he asked the obvious question. "A-Are you an Autobot?" The words that came out almost tripped over eachother.

KITT scanned his files for different sources for anything dealing with Autobots. He found a few conspiracies but in this day and age, they were hardly fully developed, so KITT dismissed the few things that might have hinted their precense on Earth. "I am an advanced processor created by FLAG called the Knight Industries Two Thousand. I have no knowledge of whatever this Autobot thing is...nor any data." KITT knew the kid would most likely be clueless of what FLAG was, but KITT didn't care. "What IS an Autobot?"

Chris blinked, so the car was alive, but it wasn't an Autobot. This was... Unreal. He grinned lightly and set his ball down looking him over. He wondered if he could transform like an Autobot, but kept those thoughts to himself. "You're just like my Dad, but my Dad can become a robot." He commented without really thinking. Though it may have been because he had grown up for the most part around people... Beings... Like KITT.

"Oh my word...you're not serious are you?" KITT's Boston accent hinted shock. "Your dad is...how can that be?" KITT was thoroughly confused, and half trying to convince himself that this kid was just making up imaginary stuff as they seemed to be this way all too often. So how could he accept that this was a reality? Maybe he should just believe this time...So KITT said nothing further. KITT was pretty good with detecting lies, too, so perhaps the kid wasn't bluffing after all. His expression was a give away too...

"I never gotta chance to ask. He had to give me up two years ago." Chris's mind strayed a bit, he missed his Dad a lot. As much as he loved his Aunt and Uncle, who had welcomed him, having never met him before, into their home and lives... They just weren't his Father. Though his Uncle tried to be a surrogate Father, something he greatly appreciated. "He's somewhere out there." He pointed lightly to the sky to imply another planet. Even if it was broad daylight, he was sure KITT would get it.

"You really ARE serious, aren't you?" KITT said, still sounding baffled. If this little kid means what he says...and isn't delusional or just making up stuff...maybe those minuscule reports I did find in my searches a few moments ago were true..."So...your dad is, what you call an Autobot...that means I deducted right when you weren't entirely human. Thus, 'aliens' do exist on Earth. I'm truly baffled."

"Uh-huh, do I look like a lier to you Knight Ind... Ind..." Chris was trying to say out the entire name but really couldn't. As wide as his vocabulary was it was still hard to sound out the large words for him. "They ain't on Earth though, Dad's still back home. Unless somethin' happened." He decided not to try and say KITT's full name "I'm Chris, by the way... Chris Stratos... Or Prime, whichever you wanna call me."

KITT wondered if there were others here to protect him...which reminded him of that unmarked Blue Angel he'd seen just a few seconds ago. Where was his mother? "Sounds like you have an interesting family that takes care of you...I am sure your dad is doing fine." he replied, his accented voice completely neutral and emotionless again.
Ah yes, Chris had some trouble with his name. "And you may call me KITT. Nice to meet you, Chris." KITT added.

"Yeah, Uncle Richard and Aunt Amy take care of me here... Dad thought I wasn't safe no more." Chris explained, he looked over to where his Uncle and Aunt were, making sure they didn't notice him technically talking to the dreaded of things, 'a stranger'. But he knew in his gut that this car meant no harm upon him, so he felt no fear. "KITT's much easier." He smiled brightly "It's nice to meet'ya too. I never thought I'd see someone like you 'ere."
A part of him felt the ned to make sure KITT was a good guy though. He had some instincts like this and one was to tell friend from foe in a sense. "So this FLAG... They're the good guys right?" He questioned.
