"Well you guys have to... Accept sometime I have to leave the nest so to speak." Chris looked up at the elderly mech calmly "You guys can't confine me to the base forever... I have to learn to protect myself too." He commented. It was true, he could take care of himself, had to learn to do things on his own. He needed to be able to live a normal human life too.

Ratchet laughed loudly. He had not expected such a passionate answer. "Forgive me Kiddo, Sometimes its hard to remember your not the little troublemaker that you used to be. You are right, You are older and wiser. I just want you to promise that if and when you really need help, that you will not hesitate to call on us. AND YOU BETTER VISIT ON HOLIDAYS!" Ratchet said with mock seriousness. He really did want him to visit though.

Chris chuckled a bit, he understood what Ratchet meant. The Autobots had had him for the most time when he was very young. It must have been hard for them to imagine the fact he was 18 and almost ready to leave the base he now called 'home'. "Of course I'll be home on Holidays." He leaned gently against his Uncle's hip, knowing he wouldn't mind "You guys wouldn't give me any choice anyway."

"Your damn right you dont have a choice!" he said playfully nudging Chris. "If your not here then I guess I will have to drive to get you myself and the last thing you want is for me to make a scene at your college...." he said with mock threat. He chuckled inwardly at himself.

Chris looked up still leaning on Ratchet's side with a look of mock-horror. Though that wouldn't be as bad as his Dad showing up. Then again it was every kids biggest fear for any of his family members to show up at his college uninvited. "Yeah, I'll totally be here now. That would be so embaressing." He teased Ratchet slightly. He knew Ratchet wouldn't take it personally, of course.

Ratchet chuckled then thought of something. "Speaking of embarrassing, I wonder what would happen if we sent Mudflap and Skidz to get you? But then maybe not, cant have you kicked out of college because those two tore it down." He laughed openly at that idea.

Chris chuckled lightly, that was so true it wasn't even that funny. He sighed, and shook his head slightly. He yawned slightly, but wasn't tired enough to sleep yet, and when he did, he'd probably just say it and head off to bed. "Yeah, that would be dreadful though I do like the Twins." He nodded in agreement. He turned seeing the credits of the show rolling "So, what else is on TV?" He questioned.

Ratchet looked at the tv and used his wireless capability to bring up the t.v. guide. He scrolled through, having not watched television often he was unfamiliar with almost all of the shows. He spotted GOBOTS but muttered "should sue" then continued to look for a show. Hunting? no. Some human telling redneck jokes? NO. Teletubbies? HELL NO. He'd rather offline. He saw a episode of future weapons and set the Tivo to record it for Ironhide. "Anything you see that is worth watching..?" he asked Chris.

Chris looked over at the clock it was nine at night, and it was 90210 time. He thought for a minute, should he suggest that? Eh the worst that could happen was Ratchet saying no. "Turn on The CW." Chris grinned, telling him "You showed me your favorite show, now it's my turn."

Ratchet wirelessly changed the channel to the one Chris suggested. He spied the opening credits to the show 90210. A little puzzled he looked at Chris. "You will of course have to explain to me what is going on.." he said amused.

Chris nodded simply, he pointed out the two characters on screen and then explained just about everything up until now with 'Annie' and 'Naomi'. And the fact that they were now currently datng the same guy. "Got that much?" He asked, looking up at his uncle "It's not as confusing as it sounds when you actually watch it, dont worry." He explained with a smile.

Ratchet watched most of the show with Chris. He had been amused at some parts. He was not familiar with High school drama but he could at least understand why Chris enjoyed it. He was a bit surprised to find out that the two girls he mentioned were indeed dating the same guy.
"Well thats a bit awkward...." he said as the two found out the truth. Suddenly this drama show turned into a shriek fest. Ratchet had been certain that human females couldn't vocalize on that level of decibels but here were two doing it. He grunted a bit before changing to a infomercial about Oxi-clean with Billy Mayes.
(God rest Billy's soul he tried so hard to sell that crap)

"Uncle Ratchet!" Chris groaned, looking up at him "I'm missing a perfectly good cat fight!" He colled down however, smiling a bit "Oh well I have it tivoed." He commented, it was probably better this way anyway. He was tired and did not want to fall asleep when it was only a few episodes from the series finale. "But really, and infomercial? Why not Law and Order or something."

"It was the next channel over, anything to get away from that verbal assault on my receptors." he explained. He googled the term cat fight and discovered possibly why chris wished to watch it. Apparently some thought it was "hot" to watch two girls fight over one man. "Ha, Law and Order is more Prowl's cup of motor oil. " Ratchet replied. He changed the channel to Animal Planet, It was Shark week. He looked at Chris with a 'well' look. He noticed the boy had a tired look to him but decided not to say anything to him since he didn't have school or anything the next day.

"Shark Week started? YOu know me way to well Uncle Ratchet." Chris chuckled, he then mused with a joking manner "Then again, when you delivered someone, and have known them since they were a second old because of it... That'd probably explain it." He grinned thinking of Cybertron briefly. The sharks reminded him of something in particular. "Sharkticons are still cooler though." He commented, he remembered the water based shark-like robots that could also go on land.
