William Lennox and his family went on vacation because he wanted a break. He wanted to rest up and have some family quality time. He parked his car and got out of his car. He took his baby daughter out of the car and carried her and gave it to her wife. He had to open the trunk and get the sun umbrella, towels, sunscreen, chair, basket filled with food, pail and shovel for her daughter to play in the sand. He then carried all the stuff and tried to lock his trunk and car. He walked to the shore and felt the warm sun tinkle in his toes. He said, "Nice vacation. hopefully no action happens.."

"Woohooohoooo!!!! That was awesome!" Shane shouted, he had been out surfing, and had just had the ride of his life. A 10 footer, and he had ridden it iwthout wiping out. Words cannot describe how awesome that had felt to him. He sighed, pulling his surfboard under his right shoulder, he began walking. He only just noticed Will and his family. "Hey bro, what brings you here?" He asked, shaking his hair free of water.

He was carrying his stuff and immediately dropped it when he heard his brother's voice. He looked around and saw that his bro was surfing. He ran to him and said, "Oh my goodness." I haven't seen you in a while.. how have you been doing..?" He said to his wife, "This is my younger brother, Shane.." He went back to his brother and said, "Shane this is my wife.." He introduced them and picked up the stuff and wiped it because it was now sandy. He picked up the stuff and put the stuff near where Shane'e stuff were. He got the towel and laid it down so his wife and his daughter can sit. His daughter was having fun with the sand. He gave her the shovel and pail so she could dig. He picked up the boogie board that he also brung. He had his swim trunks under so he took them out and threw them to his wife. He was in his swim trunks and ran into the water and was excited at the waves.

"Ah so you're Sarah." Shane shook the women's hand slightly, then turned his head. He hadn't seen Will in a while for reasons that were as cliche as they sounded. Their Father didn't approve of the Millitary, and as such Shane was well aware of their strained relationship. "You know, Mom's been worried about you." He commented, heading over to the ocean "You should call her sometime."

William Lennox replied, "Yep.. that's Sarah.." He went into the water and he knew that his dad hated the military and said, "I will call mom after we do some waves." He saw this gigantic wave and it almost squished him and he got up and giggled and said, "This water is cold." His face and hair got wet. He grabbed his hair and squeezed the water out. He wiped his face with his hand and screamed, "Hurry and come.. join in Shane.." He waved to him. He loved the weather right now.

Shane sighed, setting his surfboard down. He rolled his eyes, there were few times that Will wasn't serious so why not. He lept in and floated on his back slightly. "You gotta love nice sunny days like this." Shane admitted, then added turning his head to Will "So how are things at NEST?" Shane had visited the base before, but he hadn't been there in months. As such he was unaware of the current situation with the 'techno-organics'.

William Lennox answered, "Yeah.. it is relaxing.." He looked to the shore where his daughter and his wife, Sarah, were making a sand castle. He yelled, "Good job guys.." He heard Shane asking him a question and replied, "NEST is fun.. with the new cadets.." "Fun putting them to training..." Why? Are you interested?" He was pretty shocked when his brother asked him that. He said, "Shane..yes or no.. tell me the truth.." His mood became serious and wasn't expecting it.

Shane bit his lip, he should have seen that coming. In a few months, when he was seventeen, he'd be old enough to go into NEST. That was, as far as he could tell, the Millitary's age restriction. Their Dad didn't want him to do that, he wanted him to use his writing talents to his advantage. But Shane wanted badly to follow in Will's footsteps and enter NEST. "Yeah, I am..." He then added "I don't care what Dad says, I'm still hell bent on being in the millitary. And I figure NEST would be the best place to go."

He asked, "Have you decided what you want to do..?" "Like for example.. air force or marine..?" He was curious now. He didn't know he was such a role model. Sarah and his daughter finished the sand castle and waved to him. He got out of the water and said, "Oh.. lookie.. she made this cool castle.." He helped pat down more. He went back into the water and saw his board and grabbed it and he washed his hands.

"Yeah, sounds good." Shane swam to shore as Will did, a picnic sounded good. In yet, a part of him felt his stomach churn. He felt the need to tell Will about the 'situation'. He knew if anyone could help him right now, it was him. He didn't want to tell their Mom, because he figured she wouldn't believe him. "Will, can we talk, you know, in private?"

He took one sandwich from the picnic and grabbed a water bottle and he stuffed the sandwich into his mouth and chewed fast and swallowed. He said,"Sure.. if that is your wish.." He wiped his mouth and almost chocked and drank some water. He went to pretty far from his daughter and Sarah. He said, "Come over here.." He whistled to him to get his attention. He said, "So what do you have to say.. that is important?" He drank his water and said, "ah.. refreshing.."

Shane bit his lower lip, sitting down calmly. How did he put this in a way that wouldn't make Will want to kill his own Father? That wasn't an easy question to answer, that was for sure, given the situation. He looked away for a moment, then looked up at Will. He knew he could trust his brother with anything. He may have been annoying when he was younger, but Will had always been there for him.

"Will... Dad's been hitting me." He tried to put it in a way that made it obvious it wasn't the kind of 'hitting' where he'd done something wrong. But rather, it was the kind of 'hitting' that one would consider 'abuse' "I'm sorry for throwing this on you, but I don't know who else to go to." He admitted, he then got directly to the point "I know this is asking a lot, but is there anyway I can move in with you and Sarah...? I can't take living there anymore."

His body trembled slightly, terrified to hear Will's reaction. He had planned to call him later on, but he figured telling and asking him in person would make the situation that much easier. His statements were true, that was why he appeared so nervous in that sense.

He knew this was going to be a serious conversation and changed his expression to a serious look. He was drinking his water and he sprayed some water in the opposite direction. He was so shocked that he became speechless and he knew he had to reply and said, "I am so sorry.. I didn't know.." He wiped his mouth and saw the wet sand and turned back to face Shane and replied, "It is okay.. Shane.. you can trust me.." "You can move with us.. we have one guest room.. do you mind?" He knew that he couldn't just leave his brother in that torture any longer. He got up and hugged him tightly and said, "You are safe now.. you can cry if you want to."He knew he couldn't just kill his own daddy. He wanted to be angry but he kind of understood why his dad didn't want his son to join the army because he didn't want to lose him or Shane.
