Arden's yelp had brought Adrien out of his stirring thoughts about a person's use of charm and looks. He looks up to see the cause of such a reaction and sees the girl who had stepped on his notebook. "Well, that was rude!" he says loudly, staring at the girl. Realizing the child's ignorance of his remark, he turns back to Arden. He takes her hand, examining the bruise. "Ah...It's not that bad, from over here." He cradles the hand, massaging the bruised area. "Oh, of course she does. Have you seen her get up? The make up carries more than have of her total weight!"
He shakes his head exasperated, but still laughing at tue thought. "Honestly! I don't see why girls your age try so hard at looking old! I mean, why do that when everyone over your age strives to look younger!" His tone was loud and exaggerated to emphasis his thoughts to those around them.

Arden flinched as Adrien took her hand suddenly which in turn sent a shot of pain to the bruise that had formed on top of her hand. With that, she winced, biting her bottom lip. Then, she looked at him as he cradled her hand ever so gently and massaged it. This change of attitude surprised her a bit. She hadn't expected a caring, gentle side from him, at least towards her or in this environment. When he took a shot at "Her Bitchiness", she laughed. Though she realized it was pretty true, despite the exaggeration of the weight of make up.
"Personally, I rarely wear make up, and if I do it's usually not too much, a little eye liner here, a little lip gloss there, that sort of stuff. She, on the other hand, looks like my old Barbie doll when i went through the "let's see what we can do to make Barbie 'prettier'!" stage." Arden replied. Think for a second she added something, "I would guess she's older than me, i haven't seen her in any of my classes.... And you talk like you're so much older... you can't be more than three or four years older tops though."

Adrien smiled at Arden, happy to play big brother. Leah never let him do as such. She was still a little hurt by her big brother's decisions. So, he was happy that he could do this for this kid. He couldn't help but grin at her statements backing him up too. He always basked in the glow of being right. Though, she was bad at putting her statements in order. Cause now, he was indignant at her choice of words about his age. It's true, he was only a couple of years older but that didn't mean, wisdom has not taken over at times. Nor does it mean that he wasn't as smart as he's making himself out to be. Frankly, he thought what she had said was hurtful.
He lets go of her hand, looking a bit defeated. "Well," his voice breaks a bit, trying to find the words, "the number isn't really the definition of one's wisdom. Someone can live more in 20 years than others do in a lifetime. It's all about the choices and the things that we see do. Don't you think?"
(LOL...that's a line from the third season of DW)

Arden was surprised at how much her words hurt him. "Oh I didn't mean it that way! And I totally agree with you about that." she said, regretting what she'd said just moments ago. She hated thinking she'd turned this newfound friend into an unwanted enemy. Having more than Leah would be nice, maybe even helpful. With a sigh, she muttered, soft enough only Adrien would hear, "Everything inside, it never comes out right.... I'm sorry about what I said to you, and i know i can't take it back, but I'm sorry..."
(( there's lyrics from Buckcherry's Sorry. hehe somebody needs a hug....just look at her!))

Adrien looks at her, a bit surprised at her statements. 'What?' he thought, suddenly seeing her sad form. He opens, his mouth, unable to say anything. He was confused, and had no idea what to do. But, as it turns out, there was more. Her soft whisper reached his ears and he realized that she thought he was hurt. He couldn't help but smile, that was sweet. So, he takes her hand, and hugs her. Enveloping her in his arms, while resting his head on hers. "Aww, that's not, well--- it's not that. But thanks kiddo!" He pulls back, ruffling her hair.

Arden fell into Adrien's hug, then she relaxed into it. She was glad he wasn't mad at her or sad. She was so happy she didn't even care that he called her kiddo. When he pulled back, a smile replaced her pout. "Hey, don't mess up the hair." she joked, chuckling.

Evan was walking down the halls looking for his sister after going to his locker. Once he reached a spot near where he thought her locker was, he couldn't see her. Glancing down, he found his sister, being hugged by some guy. What the hell?! he thought, confused and a bit protectively. He recognized the guy from some of his classes, Adrien something or other. Not really caring who the guy was but why he was holding Arden, he decided to make himself known. "Hey there." he uttered simply, looking down at the two.

"Oh, it's just hair!" Adrien exclaims, bemused by his new found friend. He quite liked her. She had spunk, intelligent by the sound of it and had a heart. He was glad that kids could still have those qualities. Wow, he does sound like he's supposed to be forty. No wonder she questioned his words. He shrugs. Letting the sigh escape his lips, for he really needed a nap.
He then hears the voice of a newcomer. "Hello!" he says cheerfully as he looks up at his classmate. His mouth turns into the shape of an 'O'. "Evan is it? Hey-llo!" He grins, as if welcoming a long time buddy rather than a stranger from his class.

Arden's eyes widened hearing her brother. Sure, D was a nice guy, but he was very protective like most big brothers were. Trying to keep the mood light, she turned her head to his direction. "Hai Ev!" she greeted him with a grin and a wave. She wondered if Adrien had the knowledge that Evan was her brother...
=========================================================
"Hey Ar," Evan said, returning the greetings with a small smile, "Adrien." He had his arms crossed, as he looked at the two. "So... what're you guys doing on the floor?" he asked them, a quizzical look on his face. He decided not to mention him and the girl's relation. It would be fun to see if this guy could figure it out for himself he thought.

Adrien over looked the odd nicknames, he figured that they must be good friends and he knew that if he tried to speak about it, he'll just end up insulting the ridiculous names one way or another. He looks Evan up and down. He wasn't ugly, there was that. He was for sure only average at best in academics but maybe he's one of those sports guys, the one who look wee-small, when they're really sporting a six pack. Adrien had to grin at his own thoughts, they seemed right to him at the least.
Taken out of his judgements by Evan's question about his odd little situation, he struggled to answer or give the two friends a chance to chat a bit. Of course, that didn't go well for his subsconcious thoughts had beat him to it. "Oooohhhh, what are we doing on the floor? Well, that's a good question." He looks at Arden, in a playing tone, winking at her then looking back at Evan. "Well, It's comfy innit? With all the dirt and rubbish being stepped on hundreds of kids, It's just delightful!" He tries to grin at his classmate, only to cower back at the guy's stare. "Well-- in truth, I wouldn't have known myself, if Arden here wasn't stading there still as can be, While I went of daydreaming while walking." he says almost modestly.

Arden almost had a giggle fit when Adrien winked at her. He was clueless to the situation he could be putting himself in. Trying to help her new friend out she said, "Of course!" enthusiastically. She gave her brother a look that told him not to be mean. "Not my fault you weren't paying attention where you walk." she said to Adrien in a fun tone.
========================================================
Evan raised an eyebrow when Adrien winked at his sister. Most of the time, he would act on that, but the poor guy couldn't figure out what was a bit obvious to most people and Arden was apparently friends with him. Him and Arden looked similar and had nicknames for each other, but that didn't seem to be a big enough hint. "You just bumped into each other?" he asked.

"Oi!" Adrien replies indignantly to Arden, "I was paying attention! I was just-- caught in a very high power and masculine song!" He puffs out his chest trying to look tough. It was a total fail from the start though, his thin figure had taken away the magic of his gesture. He slumps back, embarassed at his attempt. His position was-- he'll have to admit a bit humbling. He was never really good interacting with guys his age. Younger and older men like him only because he was witty and could match with him in some ways. He played big brother for the little boys that he encounters while he was the admiring, almost fanboy, to the older crowd. Now, stuck in the position with Evan something, that was odd. He looks up again, another 'o' is formed by his lips. He nods, "Yup!" he says, popping the 'p', to answer the man's question.

Arden chuckled as she said, "Sure you were," sarcastically. She laughed again at his failed attempt to look tough and macho. "You're funny." she commented smiling. Noticing he seemed a bit awkward in the situation he was in, she hoped for his sake, Evan would lighten up on the serious doom 'n' gloom tough dude attitude he had going on.
========================================================
Evan laughed slightly at Adrien's attempt to look tough. Looking at the defeated look about the guy afterwards made him feel a tad sorry for the guy. With a slight smirk on his face, he said, "Well anyways, need a hand up?" reaching out an open hand to Adrien. The guy was nice enough, he figured, to not be so intimidating towards. A little clueless maybe, but that wasn't so bad.

Adrien discreetly looks at his fallen iPod, trying to hide any trace of the previous song that he had been listening to. Sure, he knew that they weren't just going to make a run through of his things, but this was just in case. Besides, Happy by Leona Lewis is a perfectly normal and powerful ballad! His thoughts racked and occuppied his thoughts, having him ignore the two people near him. That is, until a hand was put in front of him. "Huh?" he asks, just a bit confused. "Oh, yeah that'd be grand! Molto bene!" he exclaims, taking Evan's hand. He grins and salutes, "Grazie, Signore!"

Arden followed Adrien's eyes as he glimpsed at his iPod. "Happy by Leona Lewis" it read. She smiled at that, thinking it was cool that he wasn't exactly like your typical guy. She decided to not mention it though because she thought that would be messed up, not to mention embarrassing for him. Seeing the nice gesture from her brother towards her newfound friend made her smile wider.
=========================================================
"No problem," Evan replied with a half smile as he helped his classmate to his feet. Then he took Arden's hand and pulled her up as well. "So where are you two headed to?" he asked casually. It was an easy way to make small talk and to figure out if his sister would be coming straight home or not too.

Adrien opens his mouth briefly to answer the seemingly simple question. That is, until he realized that he had no plans, or well, no plans came to mind. Involuntarily, he reaches up to scratch the back of his neck. "Ah--I don't know. Go home I suppose." Looking up, his thoughts still bolted through him, trying to reach out. "Maybe get chips, have some ice cream. Fries! Yeah, fries would be a good after school snack." He clicks his tongue, finally looking at his companions in the eye. "How about you two? What're you up to?" Breathing in, he barely recognizes the somewhat intrusive statement that he had just made. So, he adjusts his things in his hands trying to balance it right.
