Josh was walking around on the tarmac, near a few of the airplanes that were parked there. He'd encountered Mudflap and Justin thanks to his connection with Justin, but he was entirely unsure of the idea of this possbily being his new home (having been told this by Articfang). The concept he really had trouble grasping was the fact that it was quite likely he'd find a parent who would be willing to adopt him...but he was a street kid just like Justin, with quite an awful reputation of being one of the more intimidating bullies on this side of NJ. He wasn't apart of any gangs, but he had buddied up with some thugs much bigger than him before just so that he could one: live, and two: get his way.
He sighed, eye brows furrowed in irritation. He shoved his hands into his day old hoody-as Mudflap had helpe dhim out with getting some new clothes after he clamed down. The best thing about it was Josh hadn't even asked for the favor. He was glad to finally have a shower too, relieve that he didn't smell and look horrible. "Should I stay or should I go?"he growled questioningly. Sure there were lots of kids at the base here, but none of them, save for Justin, was some unwated lone wolf who bullied little kids around for money and food...

Leslie had found out from her father a few days before he left for another flight mission that he was familiar with the people at NEST and he had even done a few flights with the pilots there. She was ecstatic to find that out because she had already met two people from NEST one of them being a Autobot. She excitedly asked if she could get a tour of the NEST base and her father made a phone call to an old buddy of his who told him he’d be glad to give her a tour of the base. When the time came for her trip to NEST, She toured the base quickly and after that she told her dad’s friend thank you. Eventually after touring the entire base she was permitted to look around herself. She was enjoying a walk out on the tarmac looking at the jets and helicopters that were parked outside. “I’d love to fly one of those things.... She told herself as she continued on walking until she noticed she wasn’t the only one on the tarmac. Leslie looked at Josh curiously and started to drift toward his direction. She was not sure how he was related to NEST but thought that even if he wasn’t officially part of NEST he was one lucky kid to be around the Autobots all the time, unaware that he was debating about whether he should stay or go. She was unsure if she should talk to him but she felt like meeting someone new and making a friend was a good idea, despite how nervous and shy she was. She was hoping that she wasn’t bothering him as she spoke up, “Hello there.... She said as she twiddled with her curly blonde hair.

Josh was still thinking, staring at one of the F-35's when he heard a female voice to his right. Slightly startled, he turned quickly, not used to just randomly interacting with people unless he had motivation to steal something from them, be it food, money, or something he could easily pick pocket. He was looking at her with a confident, but scheming eye, as that's just the way he was used to functioning. Sure, he thought she was quite pretty. He liked her curly blonde hair too, but that was pretty far back in his conscience. It probably had something to do with his young age too (him being a bout one year younger than her).
"Hey..."Josh had the faintest New Yorker accent. It was quite faded because most of the time he'd spent here, and his accent slowly became more like some of the new jersey residents instead. It was still a pretty noticeable accent, regardless. "Who are you?"

One of the first things that Leslie noticed was he was actually a pretty cute boy thus it made her a lot more nervous. Leslie The way the kid turned at the sound of her voice instantly, it was almost as if he was waiting for someone. The first thing that she noticed was his accent even though it was barely there. She figured because of the New York accent that he wasn't exactly from around this part of the country. "I hope I'm not bothering you....I'm Leslie...but you can call me Newt if you want to. She nervously looked around for anyone that may be coming towards them looking for the boy but she saw no one. She wondered what he was doing out on the tarmac, and why when she looked into his eyes that she felt he was truly alone. She sat down on the tarmac next to him careful not to crowd him. "Who are you? She asked curiously.

"N-nice to meet ya. I'm Josh. Some call me Razor."he replied as he fiddled with the knife in his pocket nervously. His heart pounded some. He was scared and nervous, and not used to making casual talk like this. It had been hard enough with Mudflap, Justin and Articfang. But why would she think she was bothering him? She didn't seem that annoying or anything...
Speaking of the big mech cat, he wondered where she was. He glanced at the planes nervously. "So uh, ya like planes or something?"he asked, wondering why she was out here too.

“Nice to meet you as well... Leslie replied and looked around the tarmac nervously. Her heart was probably beating a hundred beats per minute, or so it felt like it. She had never carried on a conversation with a boy before, most of her conversations ended with the boy saying “leave me alone”. This was fairly new for her and she was hoping it wasn’t noticeable that a slight pink blush was in her cheeks. She perked up as he mentioned the planes. “Yes I do. My father is the pilot of Air Force 1 and I get my love of aviation from him. She turned towards him after glancing at a few jets on the tarmac. “What about you?

"Dunno. I've kinda thought about different stuff er...here and there, but nothin really seems that interesting. I mean-I dunno. I've got work off as little as it is, I don't really have big dreams for anythin."he shrugged. "So uh yeah...aviations kinda cool but I dunno. I've got an interesting past and uh, I ain't had a lotta time to think about a career..."Josh just kind of blurted out the next sentence because he gave up trying to 'beat around the bush' with this girl. For once he just wanted to tell someone outright was going on of late. He was sick and tired of running from his problems. And suddenly, he was on a bit of a rant. My biggest dream is just to find a blasted home, and I kinda hope this is it and that they dun kick me out...I want to be able to live long enough to find a blasted job and get me some money. DEN i'll start thinkin about some kinda career..."he sighed, kicking at the ground. "Sorreh, it's just a problem I live wit every single day..."course, he didn't specifically tell her he was an orphan living on the streets, but it was probably fairly easy to imply, that, or she'd be oh so curious enough to ask him...Course, be it fortunately or unfortunately, he didn't have his old ragged clothes to prove it, but by the way he talked should be obvious enough...

Leslie was intrigued that that this boy did not seem to have a image for his future, but then again neither did she. She knew that she loved flying, but she wasn’t sure if it was what she wanted to do her entire life. She however was slightly interested when he said that he had a interesting past. She wondered what he meant by that. “I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a rough life, and I hate to ask but what exactly do you mean? She wondered what he meant but figured if he didn’t want to answer that question it was fine with her because she did not want to bother him.

"Er, I live on the streets. I only was led to dis place cause of Mudflap, Justin's adoptive father. I used to know that kid. Eh, we coulda been good friends but we were too busy fightin for survival every day ta care. I may not look like I came from da streets but dat's just because Mudflap was nice enough despite the crap I put Justin through ta get me a bath and some clean clothes."he was kind of scared of the bot because he'd threatened him to fight one of the thug's he'd hired after he heard what they'd done to Justin, but Josh had been desperate, and sometimes he was forced to use other people to get what he wanted. And Justin simply happened to be part of some of the deals he'd exchanged upon spending the last several years in the streets of New Jersey. Despite that slight fear of the bot, he was truly grateful just to get some clean clothes and a bath.

Leslie was shocked when she heard Josh say that he had lived on the streets. She could not even believe what she was hearing. He seemed too nice to be a kid living on the streets, but then again the way he talked and acted told otherwise. “I- I’m sorry about that... Leslie now felt bad about bringing up the topic now because of the fact that he lived on the streets. He also mentioned that he had met an autobot named Mudflap. She had not met many bots in her short time on the base and the only people that she knew from NEST were Jade and Twister, and possibly Josh if he was officially a part of NEST.

"No big...life ain't fair to everyone."Josh replied unhappily, folding his arms. "Like I said, ya get used to it, but...I kinda hope they'll let me stay here like dey did wit Justin. I know not every homeless kid can be saved, but there are the orphanages. With a little luck they'll find their own way too. This had damn well better be the end of it because as soon as I turn 16 or 17 I'm gettin me a blasted job so I can actually have a few things to call mah own."He sighed. Josh really hoped he could stay here, he HATED the orphanages and the social services-they weren't any help and he fell back in the same rut over and over when he was younger-and that is the very thing that forced him to live the way he did nowadays. Josh was plain sick of it. He finally found some place he really wished he could call home...or, at least he thought he did. He'd heard from Justin people could stay here obviously, but most had ties with NEST, save for him and Justin. Needless to say, he would need a miracle."I dun wanna be another hassle here, but no one's stopped me from leavin...so i dunno. I just don't want to be ditched yet again..."

“I’m sure the Autobots and the people at NEST won’t mind letting you stay here...You and I are kinda in the same boat. I don’t really know anyone here and I just feel like a knot on a log because my dad is more familiar with everyone here. Leslie replied with a slight tone of sadness in her voice because the truth was that she did want to come and visit the base but she was no sure if NEST would let her stay there, or at least stay there while her father was out on flights, though she was highly doubting they would let her stay at NEST if anything happened to her father because she wasn’t tied to anyone specifically. “Y-you won’t be left alone again...not by the Autobots. "Yer kiddin me right? You've got a better reputation than I do-and Mudflap is, or was angry wit me. It's kinda awkward bein around him half the time...he threatened ta kill me once when he heard of the occasions I sent older bullies after Justin to mug him so we could split da deal."He scratched his head and sighed, not happy about that side of himself. "So if I have any hopes to stay here, I gotta shape up an prove mahself to be worthy enough to linger in their mighty presence. And I don't like submitting to anyone."he growled. "You however, have a dad who works here and could easily fill out paper work and various permissions slips for you, and I'm sure he could help you get a career started here when you're old enough, join the military and all dat jazz. I know how lotsa this stuff works, I've just been stuck in a rut and not able to experience any of it. Only speculate day in an day out." Josh glanced away, nervously fiddling with the foldable four inch blade in his hoody pocket.
"Sorry, I'm not tryin ta yell at ya, I'm just kinda jealous...of all the kids here. Because they have awesome bot parents dat dun ditch dem and love dem...and I'm just a straggler because Mudflap helped meh..."
Josh figured he didn't need to tell Newt half the stuff he was telling her, but what the hell-his problems made him who he was to this day.

Leslie felt very bad for Josh now, she had no idea that he had such a tied up past with Justin. She felt bad for both of them because they were both competing for survival and the only way to do that was to actually have to hurt each other. By the way the Josh had talked about it though made her think that he truly was sorry about having to do that to Justin. “I’m sure he will understand that the both of you were competing for survival... She commented before he started to talk about her father and how easily he could get her a job at NEST. It was true all he had to do was sign a few papers and she would have the ability to move freely amongst the people at NEST. “Yeah, I guess I do. However I don’t know if I’d have a reason to join...it’s not like I’m actually partnered with any bots, nor do I have a bot parent... She paused as Josh said he felt like a straggler. “I feel the same way here at the base....the people here are nice but I just feel like I’m bringing everyone down or bothering them.”

"I feel the same way. At least you have a Dad that works here so yer somewhat welcome."Josh replied, kicking at the ground with a foot again. He fell silent for a bit, not really knowing what to say next."Uh, I've only been here about a day. How often have ya visited?"Glancing back at Leslie, he (again) noticed she was quite pretty, and she seemed really nice. Josh didn't want to leave the base just yet unless he was forced to. He wanted to get to know some of these people if he could manage it, and Leslie was one of them...
(sorry for the crap post, muse is kinda blah-ish)
